Cozza
Hi Guys Looking for a 240z dash in any condition, with or without gauges. Preferably in Sydney but happy to pay postage for the right dash. Please let me know what you’ve got. Thanks Mick
Administrators gav240z Posted February 13, 2018 Administrators Share Posted February 13, 2018 I've got a spare I was going to reskin at Dashboard doctor in Coburg VIC , the frame has suffered weathering.. sandblast and repaint and she'll be ok. It's in storage in Melbourne though.. Alternatively I have 1 that was reskinned and I was considering selling and having the original out of #150 redone instead. What kind of money were you looking to spend?
Cozza
Hi Gav, it really depends on the condition Ideally I want something that is not tip top as I plan on cutting it to fit around the front legs of a roll cage. Looks are not terribly important however, if it was to look really rough I would probably bog and wrinkle paint it. I’d prefer to spend money on accurate gauges than a pretty dash to be honest. Would love to see what you’ve got though. Thanks Mick

Administrators gav240z Posted February 15, 2018 Administrators Share Posted February 15, 2018 Just remembered the reason I got the rough dashboard is that I wanted to try the DIY restoration method to compare with a re-skin job. Some reports stated that re-skin jobs made fitted gauges difficult and the texture was different. Yes OEM dashboards have a more 'greyish colour' and slightly different texture. Photos for comparison here. Gtv240z
I have one, but it doesn't have the frame behind it and is in Adelaide. Looks wise it would be fine for a race car. Coat of black vinyl spray would freshen in up
andyk_79
Wouldn't the greyish colour just be 40 years of fading?
