Painting/powder Coating 260Z Alloy Wheels

Recommended Posts

got a set with my car and they're buggereed. mechanically perfect, but the coating is all stained and flaking. My understanding is that they need to be bead balsed ( not sandblasted) and then powdercoated with a base coat ( and possibly clear). does anyone know what colors, coating are supposed to be used and can anyoen recommend a place in melb who will do the job?

i do have a sandblasting setup , but my understanding is that it leaves the alloy surface too pitted for a good finish

thanks all

Hi

Have a look at this thread, amazing work on 260Z original alloys.

Truthfully the entire Dadson Racing 2010 Revival thread is worth a read.

ended up hydroblasting them and just an epoxy clear coat. look pretty contemporary

Cool, care to post a photo ?

People are starting to tale a greater interest in these original alloys.

Cheers
