Moderators PB260Z Posted November 12, 2015 Moderators Share Posted November 12, 2015 What we need is a global record of car milages. All factory services and rego checks get loaded into a central DB. Anyone can then check the apparent (displayed) milage against the DB and any rollbacks get caught out. We have such a DB in Australia and it does catch people out. In this modern world it should be easy to do this kind thing, but it aint.

brent012
This is the direct link: http://www.edwardlees.com.au/Vehicle/nissan-fairlady-coupe-1972-11543 No photos or much info atm and the reg plate number isn't valid. Doesn't look like there were any 1972 silver Z432s in the global z car thread recently. Could it be one of those ads indicating they are able to source them? Like those videos a few months ago. Administrators gav240z Posted December 6, 2015 Administrators Share Posted December 6, 2015 Silver 432 was on Yahoo! Auctions not that long ago. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/13116-the-global-z-car-s30s130-market-thread/?p=162572 http://30d.jp/stuff/25 But this was listed as 1970 model. I doubt Phil bought this 1.

Administrators gav240z Posted December 10, 2015 Administrators Share Posted December 10, 2015 I've modified the links in this thread so they won't work. The reason for this is that this site has been around since 2004 and has built up credibility with Google in terms of SEO and I don't want that leech to benefit from this site linking back to his. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PageRank Just replace the URLs where you see a hyphen (-) with a period (.) character.

Hi Gav, Would it not be better for someone researching this car ( that is out of the loop ) be welcomed to find these threads? I mean i know i would be doing research before buying a car of that stature? we are here to help the people with this information on this..Gentleman not hide it. I do not see having a link to the car in here as a bad thing and may actually help a prospective buyer to go that bit further with getting it inspected and not trusting ..him. andyk_79
Someone reseraching this car will still find this thread - it's more the other way around - that someone googling for example "Z432 for sale" will be LESS likely to be linked to Edward Lee's website. Administrators gav240z Posted December 11, 2015 Administrators Share Posted December 11, 2015 To clarify I've not removed the link, just made it invalid so a webcrawler (say Googlebot) doesn't see it and index it and associate our site with Edward Lees, in effect giving his site some benefit in search results (PageRank). I could also add the attribute rel="nofollow". https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/96569?hl=en How does Google handle nofollowed links? In general, we don't follow them. This means that Google does not transfer PageRank or anchor text across these links. Essentially, using nofollow causes us to drop the target links from our overall graph of the web. However, the target pages may still appear in our index if other sites link to them without using nofollow, or if the URLs are submitted to Google in a Sitemap. Also, it's important to note that other search engines may handle nofollow in slightly different ways. However I'll need to see if there is a way to do this, currently the forum software doesn't seem to allow this via the WSYWIG (what you see is what you get) editor. In some cases I have no problem promoting another site by linking to them, especially if they offer a positive service to the community. But in other cases like Mr Lees I don't want him to get any benefit as a result of our site linking to his.
