HKSZ Posted January 13, 2015 Share Posted January 13, 2015 Would these pass a scrutiny check if I wanted to go hillclimbing? 7'' globes with 235/60/14 Yokies 352 looks like they stick out a bit, nothing ridiculous but the lenghtened arms on the rally car don't help. dat2kman Posted January 13, 2015 Share Posted January 13, 2015 A235 tread width tyre on a 7" wide rim, will have the tyre wanting to fold over, unless you run very high PSI. High PSI will not allow the tyre on that rim to work to optimum. F these are what you jave, they'll be ok, but look at 38-42 psi. The main thing is, get out there and just give it a go, you'll have plenty fun, and get to see, and talk to, others and ask them how they set their car up! Deally, a 205/55 or a 205/60 on the 7" rims allow you to drop pressures to around 24-26, which allows flex in sidewall, and keeps as much tread surface flat on the road surface, though the suspension travel. 1600dave Posted January 14, 2015 Share Posted January 14, 2015 I have nothing useful to add, just came to reminisce about Yoki 352's - ran them for years on my 1600 in the 80's for road use / hillclimbing / even the odd khanacross. White writing inwards, of course ! Usually 205/60/13 on a 6" rim, went to 225/60/13 on a 6" rim at one point , handling went downhill so back to 205 when the 225's wore out. PZG302 Posted January 14, 2015 Share Posted January 14, 2015 On the old Falcon or Valiant, it was either hotwires, globes or jellybeans, 14x7" on the front 14x8" on the rear and the white lettering to the outside for the 352's if you were baller, Bridgestone SF340's for most or BF Goodrich's if were brave.......
