cracker
Just got quoted $88 per side by Nissan for JUST THE BOOT - and the part is still ex-Japan so I'll be waiting a while. Does anyone know if these can be sourced locally as an aftermarket or universal type boot? I know I can source an aftermarket part from msa so will do that if nothing easier is found - I need to re-assemble the steering before Wednesday so ideally can get my hands on one in the next couple of days. Moderators PB260Z Posted December 29, 2014 Moderators Share Posted December 29, 2014 Gidday Good chance that Repco or equivilant parts supplier will have something the right size. Take a sample, or at least the key measurements. Should cost way less than OEM. Worst case evilbay for about $25 Cheers PB
Moderators PB260Z Posted December 29, 2014 Moderators Share Posted December 29, 2014 Hi Was a bit bored so hit Google up, Burson's do a generic kit that could be worth looking at http://www.burson.com.au/cv-steering-rack-boots-c-103_116_287.html?osCsid=614175f3d80a3b1722004255bb72bdf8
cracker
Thanks PB, I actually couldn't find anything on ebay - maybe I've searched poorly? Got a link? Bursons don't have anything on their system that matches up for 240z but I will pay them and Repco a visit this afternoon and see if I can't find something that will do the trick. Will report back. Searched for "Steering Rack Boot" http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2141725.m570.l1313.TR1.TRC0.A0.H0.Xsteering+rack+boot&_nkw=steering+rack+boot&_sacat=
cracker
Cheers! Bursons have a universal type boot which can be cut down to size at $13ish each. I've bought these which should fit quite well anyway. I'll be installing tomorrow so will post photos of success (or failure I guess haha) then. Moderators PB260Z Posted January 5, 2015 Moderators Share Posted January 5, 2015 Perfect fit Great result, and heaps cheaper than the first price of $88 per boot. Glad it worked out. Cheers PB
