260DET
Thinking of subscribing to this simulator series, should be fun plus useful as a familiarisation tool for any tracks before actually running the Zed there. Corvette might be the go for me https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pY5PeAVinc
George
A colleague does it and keeps pestering me to join. He raves about it regularly.

MyEnquiringMind
I am waiting for Project CARS to be released before deciding which way I am going to go... i.e. into a PC for iRacing or PS4 for Project CARS...
260DET
Armchairs and keyboards,,,,,,,, Seat, steering wheel and other controls, sound and screen. It's called a simulator Jason, very sophisticated ones are used in F1 and for pilot training/testing.
George
Thinking of subscribing to this simulator series, should be fun plus useful as a familiarisation tool for any tracks before actually running the Zed there. Corvette might be the go for me https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pY5PeAVinc Did you end up trying it? As I mentioned last October, my colleague has been pestering me (for ages!) and has finally worn me down. I'm borrowing his wheel/pedals etc today to give it a go before I commit to my own gear. 260DET
It's on the 'to do' list George, thanks for reminding me. Let us know how you go, it seems like a good thing.
George
Richard, I have a few hours under my belt and for the first time last night felt good about my laps. The learning curve is steep which makes it all the more satisfying when you string a few corners together, then a few laps, then the pb's start to drop. This game is unforgiving - it is a simulation and you do need to treat it like you're driving a real car. You'll figure that out after the umpteenth time you spin off and crash... I am yet to race as I'm getting used to everything still. I'll be giving it a go next week. I expect carnage with all the other newbs on track... 260DET
Have watched a few Irace videos George, it looks pretty fun to me and certainly would be good for the reflexes and brain generally.
