2015 Easter weekend Nissan Datsun Nationals. What's doing?

Recommended Posts

Not too far away,

Info and entry forms no doubt some way off being issued,

Talk of events leading up to this, for the few local Z club only members.

Forum discussion on the " Spirts Car Racing" thread has some references to the NDN15 event.

What's doing?

Thinking of running an old original ARC rally car, and it's original owner/driver has been asked to give it a bit of a belt around a circuit that wasn't in existence, when he was driving Touring Cars in the mid 1980's.

Some other of the cars he drove, are contemplating this event.

If this is the bloke I am thinking of I have a magazine article of a road test comparing one of his special vehicles to a Wankin Stick VL Commodore from way back when he did the school run.

Would be nice to have the article signed.

Well THAT Bluebird is now in Qld, and about to come out and play, at the HRCC TTT weekend mid February at Morgan Park!

It's had a extensive rebuild, and the Dolby button on the cassete/radio has been renewed!

No the vehicle in question wasn't a bluebird, but would carry around 18 on a good day on each run  ;D.

But I would probably get that magazine signed too.

Whats happening with this event?

Lot of people need to pre-plan holiday, logistics, etc for it!

The organising club is being very quiet about it, no mention of what is planned.

Or what costs will be.

Non-Event? last minute balls-up? Z's only?

All a bit "secret squirrel, must be a member, shoosh shoosh" ?

As is always the situation, prices and exact details will be settled in plenty of time, those who have been involved in these sorts of events well know that it's impossible to have prices and details settled over seven months in advance, surely you realise that Jason so I guess that you are just trolling. But it's good that you are thinking of it so far ahead though, going to be a great event for all Nissan/Datsun owners, drivers and enthusiasts :)

Trolling my arse.

As usual, you are full of information. Not.

Even this far out, people still need to plan their holuday time, allocate funds etc.

You leave the supply of information till much later, you run risk of some interstaters not being able to make it.

We dont need the nitty gritty details of all the various permutations of categories, classes, prices and knob polishing.

Just let the masses know what is proposed, what the vague plans are, dates and days, etc.

Otherwise, if it's not in peoples minds, they may end up at one of the other Easter events elsewhere!

Trolling my arse.

As usual, you are full of information. Not.

I want both of you to be aware that whenever I read posts between the pair of you - this song is going in my head.

On a more serious note though I'd be happy to put something up on the website homepage (I was contacted about it) but so far have very little detail to put up there.

I can be slow to do it, but I will eventually do it!

It's bloody amazing - they act the same on PF...

I vote they get their names changed to 'Waldorf & Statler'.

You sound as if you're anxious to enter the event, Jason . Be assured things are well in hand . But it is only prudent to release information only if you know it is correct.

So it will in Warwick Queensland . It will be over the four days of Easter 3 April to 6 April so look into accommodation now. As it will  be up to the entrant to organise that for themselves same as last time. Nissan Datsun clubs are being contacted for input.

But There are loose ends to tidy up and that should happen over the next few weeks. When that is completed and the web site up and running . Then you will have all the information that is needed. We are doing our best, but this sort of thing is always a hurry up and wait type of thing. It will be more expensive but that is only a natural thing . But we are working to deliver better value for your dollar this time around.

Wot's a PF?

Thanks Aub, now we are getting a bit of something.

Yep, i'd like to enter something.

What are the "somethings" and on what days?

Give us a bit of a teaser as to what is hopefully being proposed.

Sorry Jason, when I saw your words "Non-Event? last minute balls-up? Z's only? All a bit "secret squirrel, must be a member, shoosh shoosh ?" I thought that you must be trolling. Silly me :D

Be good if you do come and bring your mighty Datsun sporty, just be aware that you will get thrashed by multiple Zeds so make sure it's right, we don't want any excuses do we now  ;D

Well I would hope Zeds would be able to beat a 120Y, would be pretty embarrising to have your arse whipped by a old shitter dirty white 120Y with horrible old chunky tyres on it  ;D

Trollollollololllollolol!

Meh

In 2009, that crappy old Dato 2000 nailed pretty well all the Z's, since you raise it.

Still does.

Anyway,

aubrey, thanks for your valuable and helpfull input here, when pissible, please do let us know a little bit more.

Some i have spoken to have asked or mentioned all kinds of things, mainly around the Track day, or Track days!

Ie more than one day!

For those coming from the Southern States, there was a definate, in 2009, " Yes Please, can we have more sir" vibe.

No, you wont get flag to flag door to door racing,,,, unless you get the permits done under the Qld ashort Circuit Racing Association, of which WDSCC and Morgan Park come under.

Oopps!

Sorry I am not going to get involved in any mud (or what looks to be mud) sling here. I have already had my ass kicked many months ago for putting to much to soon about events on forums .

Be patient and I know it is very easy to say . But plan your time off . Come for a holiday, there is plenty to see and do on both the Sunshine and Gold coasts .After having spent 11 days in Hawaii just recently .I think it has very little on our beaches here.

This Nationals will be everything the last ones have been and more . It will be a CAMS event so you need to be a member of a CAMS car club. ZCCQ is a CAMS club and will help out where they can. One thing for sure is that this will not be a Z centrick event and there can be no Drifting as a speed event. But more Z's the better I say.

There are a  number of AUSZCAR forum members working on this event with both Shaun and lee looking after the facebook page  . They did try to give ZCCQ a lecture on how to use facebook , but to most of us they could of been talking Japanese for all we know. Lee even went to the trouble of using a white board with stickers.Gav will post up posters for the event for us and we will gladly take up offers of help for the event but you will be assisting a cams official at some events.

Looks like it could be a good event to debut the new toy if the fun tickets stack up to get the motor done and I am in the country.

Or I could just push it around, if the motor isn't ready.
