Dave280z
Hey Guys, I'm looking at a set of wheels for my 280zx, Want to go with a decent offset to kick out the rims and also have some dish showing! . What's the max i can go without having to flare or have stock suspension getting in the way?
dat2kman
An 8" width with a 0 or pissiblt neg 4-8 mm You may need to fold lips depending on tyre size/profile.

bullzed
Even though I'm resurrecting this thread, it might be useful for someone down the track. At minimum legal height of 100mm at the rails, a 10J -27 can fit just inside the guards legally. If you aren't scared of dropping below legal height, you can squeeze a 10.5J -47 under the guards with a guard roll and slight flare. In the front you can get an 8J -35 or 9J -20 under with no problems or camber. If you start dialing camber in you could easily fit larger. pauly_adams
you can also fit 20" under there if your keen, a mate had a set and we were wondering what it would look like, im thinking you could get 22" rims under there but they would look crap

luvemfast
Don't think you'd want to go larger than 17"

pauly_adams
im dead serious on stock ride height I could have got 22" under there ( I would never do it though) we put a set of 20" on there with 45 series profile and still had room to move, they look bloody awful though, 17-18" don't look too bad with a good profile tyre though
bullzed
At the height that I run I have problems getting a 215/60-15 under the guards as it toes in so far it nearly hits the dogleg. Also I think the thread was aimed towards maximum wheel width and offset, not wheel diameter, jus' sayin.
