  3. Hey mate, Just took a photo of it for you. I haven't actually seen a genuine one, but everyone that bought one seemed quite happy with the overall mirror, although the mirror glass itself could have had a better finish. Cheers
  4. Hey Gents, I am going to bring in a few of these from the US. Obviously it works in our best interest to buy a few of these to split freight costs. At this stage I want to keep the order reasonably small so we don't have to pay duties or GST, but I will have to have this sorted quickly, as from the 1st of July, we will get slugged GST no matter to the total cost of our order. I have emailed the seller and hopefully will have a response quickly. (Also, subject to availability) Currently = US$75.00 + International Shipping + Local Freight (if you have a business address I can ship via TNT) So far the members interested are: 1.. What Did You Do On Your Z Today?

What did I do today......I planned to put in the dash and all the other components in underneath, I even sort the help of a tall gentleman from the east. So what happened.......absolutely nothing in the end, everything is back in the "storage" boxes. Moral of the story, check the heater core is the right size after being re-cored....because 5mm makes a hell of a lot of difference.....FFS & rant over. *Edit: The core itself is technically the correct length, but the two sections where the end tanks are held are slightly thicker & the edges are 3mm higher, so core doesn't sit as nicely inside the heater box, and the metal brace also sits higher

  8. I saw this car in person in August. Nice older gentlemen, easy to deal with. He has been working on it over a long period, but says it is beyond him, and his wife wants him to get rid of it. At the time it needed floors to be put in and obviously a whole lot of other work. There is also a whole heap of spare parts to go with the car, i believe he stripped a second car of all its good parts for this resto too.
  9. https://www.facebook.com/groups/641293115889953/permalink/2219723081380274/ Two "Cheesy" Datsun 260Z (2+2s) $6,000 One car is a good resto or resto mod the other had many parts, both have original wheels , both have 280z motors and 5 speeds. The parts car body is a total loss, neither have rust in the roof. Take one or both. The good one $4500 the parts car $1500.

    Full vs club rego

Hey Ben, NDSOC is definitely part of the Club Permit Scheme. NDSOC expects a certain amount of involvement from it's members as it does hold, run & participates in a lot of events. Which is great if that is what you are after. But Retro Z said, they are quite a few clubs who do not require that level of participation, you just have to google & contact them. There's a list on the VICROADs website: https://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/registration/limited-use-permits/club-permit-scheme/car-clubs-and-associations Also, another topic below:
  12. This one is for sale again, just over a year later & made it's way from Vic to QLD. https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/mons/cars-vans-utes/1976-datsun-260z/1201753177 Regretful sale. Good, honest 260z. I have started to make some repairs over the last couple of months of owning the vehicle (all receipts available for work I have done). Vehicle is Queensland registered and with a mod plate. Registered until August, byo roadworthy. The good: 9 months rego All new polyurethane bushes all around Watanabe style Rotas with near new Pirellis Momo wood steering wheel 240z roundtop carbs (so I'm told) The bad: Body has rust in right rear dogleg Rear right wheel bearing needs replacing Needs a tune Unsure of full history of vehicle, previously registered under Victorian special interest scheme All in all this car is a good basis for a full restoration or enjoy until it needs a refresh. I would keep without hesitation if I could afford it, but keeping it just isn't feasible at this time as I'm at uni. I'm looking for offers around the $30,000 any questions feel free to ask Please contact me via Gumtree as I am currently out of the country until the start of December. Will consider swaps plus cash my way only. Please don't offer me shitboxes.

    Great pics!!!
  20. Haha, yeah, it's pretty funny! I agree, plus if you have spent the money on a motor that needs 50mm triple carbs, it makes sense you spend the money on the carbs!
  21. So....who sold all of their internal organs (or external...) and bought these 50mm Mikunis for AUD $12K!?
