Administrators gav240z Posted May 23, 2009 Administrators Share Posted May 23, 2009 Hi everyone, I just came across this, seems like a reasonable price considering. http://www.wolfcreekracing.com/wcrcvhalfshaftaxlekit.pdf
Vindicare
I have these on my car, they look very nice. My only gripe is that the bolts that which attatch them to the hubs are not captive so the whole axle basically has to come out if you discover a loose bolt. Also they have quite a large backlash which means they clunk a bit. But other then that, they are great. Pictures arn't very good but atleast you can see them installed. C.A.R.
Gav: http://www.datrats.com.au/Gearbox%20%26%20Diff.html Have a read. Datrats bought a set from WCR, fitted a set to a rally 1600 then proptly broke them. They are now making their own. Also, last time I spoke to Robco he was in the process of making his own with Porsche CV's...
NZeder
Gav: http://www.datrats.com.au/Gearbox%20%26%20Diff.html Have a read. Datrats bought a set from WCR, fitted a set to a rally 1600 then proptly broke them. They are now making their own. Also, last time I spoke to Robco he was in the process of making his own with Porsche CV's... I thought Feral was not in the parts business anymore? Last time I emailed him was when a rare LZ twin cam head was forsale here in NZ I was tempted but Feral informed me of the cost of the missing bits and most would have to be custom made etc = out of my budget then and now. I have been playing with CV setups for the rear of my zed. And I have a solution in the pipeline it does involve some stock Nissan Axles, different plug-in stubs from the short nose R200 and then an adaptor for the companion flange at the wheel end. I will in the coming weeks drop off the parts to a CV shop to have the axles assembled (have enough of the smelly old gear in the garage while I have been measuring up and testing) for the final time. I have 2 different axles setups and this is a pic of the option 1 version that has the 3x2 Tri-pod setup at the diff end. The other is the stronger 5x1 setup. But this might give you the idea. I also include the stock specs of the 300zxt axles which most use for the cv conversion on the s30 but we have found the short side is good for the long side of the car and the flipped short side can work on the short side but binding could still be possible so a custom axle was made in this case - so this lead me to find a new axle setup using stock parts that was shorter - ie approx the same length as our custom axles design. PeterAllen
I'm running late model Holden CVs with a Holden LSD diff. Plenty of parts and plenty of ratios available. I had to make up adaptors and I will have to have shortened axles made.
