Lunch or breakfast at Lakeside raceway

Recommended Posts

Title says it all.

Queensland Raceways hold a breakfast or Lunch event at their circuits on request. Cost is $25 for a hot breakfast and $35 for a hot Lunch. Although prices may go up a little for 2013 but this is not confirmed at present .ZCCQ held one of the breakfast's in 2011 and anyone who attended that event was very happy with the food  and how it was presented.

Also Included in the cost is ½ hour of track time .

This is done behind a pace vehicle at HWY speed limits. There is no racing! This is track time only.

So this means you are able to take passengers with you , you do not need a helmet, you do not need any other licence or learners permit than a civil one. All insurances you have on your car should extend to this event but you will need to check with your provider to be sure. It is an opportunity to learn lines and have an experienced driver in your car with you to give advice if we can get them to join in.

But we would have to have a least 30 people booked for it to proceed . That's people not cars . Queensland raceways require a deposit of ½ cost a week before the due date of the event. The earliest that this event could take place is late February or early March. The Skyline Forum members seem to do this thing from time to time. So is anyone interested in giving up a few hours of their Sunday or Saturday to have a good time.

This is a good simple easy way to see what Lakeside Raceway looks like from a race drivers perspective.

No doubt there will be plenty of members of ZCCQ putting their hands up to do this, so it would be a great social opportunity for the Qld Auszcar forum lurkers to come along!

Bugger that it is kept at hwy speeds, ie 100 kmh, as this particular track has the claim as Australia's fastest speed circuit, the record is an average lap speed of 162 kmh.

But, just watch, the track owners will set the date at 23/24 Feb, which just happens to co-incide with another teack day in Qld, already mentioned below.

Nothing new there!

No, there is no time frame on this event. So it can be planned not to clash with any other forum or ZCCQ events as best as possible. Jason you could pick a date for this if you wish. But you better be there on the day to show us what we are doing wrong or what the right way to do things is. If an invitation is extended to the ZCCQ by the forum members then I feel there are better authorized forum members than me to take up that challenge as I am only a rank and file member of the ZCCQ .

Put me down, assuming that the Z is mobile at the time. I should be going to the next ZCCQ meeting but the proposed event may be added to the meeting agenda by any club member.

This may be a good day to join the Skyline Forum for a Breakfast as they are booked in for that Sunday. It will also be followed by the second round of the 6 round Street Sprint series. If you are interested in competing in the Street sprints on the day you only need a street rego car and cost will be around $145 for 4x(4laps)

Breakfast will be from 7.00am to 8.30am including track time The sprints will get underway from 12.00noon to 4.30pm.Entry forms can be down loaded from Queensland raceways www.qldraceways.com.au

24 March sounds good except that those going to the Nats the following week may not want to risk their cars doing sprints at that time. Lunch would suit me better but once again those doing the sprints may prefer breakfast.
