wow didn't that fire catch fast.
It was merely a sarcastic comment. There was no intention to defend or offend.
If we are going to get touchy about things, you should be taking offence to any hitler references including member avatars, as there is nothing funny about hitler in the context that you put it.
The reality is that many will make isolated comments without condoning the actions of the bad do'er(s).

Then again that's probably a good reason to not introduce a z31 section as we are all evil! and have bad taste and no humor!

And the irony of this thread is that the more you talk about Z31 the more you attract Z31 queries to the site :).

eg: http://www.viczcar.c....html#msg121284

Since the keywords 300zx and Z31 will be picked up by Mr Google-Bot and then indexed. When someone types in these phrases Auszcar will be more likely to show up.

Pretty soon we'll all be beer drinking yobo's driving Z31's on here :).

Can't tell if saying no to Z31's or Pauls suggestion to keep to what we do best i.e early Z's?

I'm not sure that it matters at all, but here is what I think:

Aus Z Car is all about S30's: It's a model family specific forum. However, that doesn't mean we should explicitly exclude another model.

**blah blah** z31's have no home **blah blah**  this is the home for S30, not for Z31's. It should be and probably will continue to be that, However, excluding another model entirely shouldn't be the target either. I don't think including them as a significant part of the forum is the answer, but there is nothing wrong with  the z31 topics and perhaps creating a sub-forum for them if there is enough interest. Make a Z31 section under the 'general forums' section, I don't see any harm in that (I'm no expert tho), but we should maintain this is an S30 website that is built around that.

Support, yes. Add, no.

Impartial to all this, he who pays the bills makes the final decision, however HybridZ is there for all model types, unless he who pays the bills (a subjective 'individual') wants to create a totally holistic forum, there is no shame in denying 'expansion' beyond the original target audience.

Thanks for the insight. I just call him Google as we are on a first name basis  :).
Whether we are talking about your audience or Google, it all comes down to relevancy and focusing on what you do best.
So a site that has a few threads on a topic in most cases won't outrank a specialist site.
Either way you have your niche and its evident as your audience come here to discuss and look for pre '84 models.
Google sees this and classifies your site as being relevant for that given topic.
There will in cases be overlaps in occasional threads, however as stated before they are different beasts and usually attract a different audience.

that's my 5c worth, good luck.

Man, I would rarely (have never) made a harsh comment on this forum HOWEVER I will make exception to this.  For you to quote Adolph Hitler and his theory on victory is tantamount to actually stating that you're an idiot.  Hitler's process of victory including boiling Jewish children alive, the rape, mutilation and torture of daughters, mothers and grandmothers whilst their husbands and sons watched, I could go on, more than 6 million people who experienced the extravagant misuse of power at the hands of an evil, perverted sadist - I have 6 million reasons to call you an idiot - grow up!
Man, I am PISSED that this kind of juvenile crap has made it on to this incredible forum!
Rev.

Wow!  I started a rant, but I'm just going to leave it at wow, you have done enough ranting for all of us.

Anyway, back on topic, No to Z31s, yes to linking them to another forum.

+1 for Z31

I love the old Z31 and would love to import a two seater. And unlike the Z32, you don't see them 'done up' with chrome rims and three tier wings.
I think its time. I mean it is a classic Z forum, not a straight six forum.

How can you say no to that arse?

I tend to agree mate, it's inevitable the older it gets the more it will become a classic - I liken it to the fact that you may have certain family members that your embarrassed to be associated with, especially when you're a teenager and concerned about your image, but eventually as you get older you realise they are family and family is important.

The Z31 is part of the Z-car lineage and history, the 200ZR 2 was a straight 6 anyway :).

As we age we may begin to appreciate our previously embarrassing kin, but we also become more aware of why we were embarrassed by them in the first place.  They are UGLY, they came from a decade of a complete LACK of TASTE and were built for people who demanded LESS from a car!

As we get older we just find ourselves say "Oh well." more often.

It's not a 'S' chassis it's a 'Z' chassis.  The only two things it has in common with the Zeds is that it came from the same factory (albeit after a name change) and they put the letter Z in the badge.  If there was a PulsarZ or a SigmaZB would we include them also?
