The TRAP!!

Sometimes woman just want to hear you say you'd rather spend money on them, or spend time with them. She knows you'd prefer the shed but she wants to hear you say she's more important before she lets you have what you want. Its how they feel in control.

Tell her wants she wants to hear about the holiday, then sit back and wait for the rewards.

Remember....if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

You may get your shed but its just one more thing she will hold over you.....then again if you're like me, I'm always in the shit its only the depth that varies so what the heck........

Well, I rekon, with an offer like that, it's about the last we'll ever hear from Greg... Nice to know you buddy, but that's a damned if you do, damned if you don't deal.  ;)

If I were you, I'd take that tarp and set it up as a nice hammock out the back.. But high enough up a tree that you're out of throwing range + 10%... They always seem to be able to throw things harder when they're angry...  ;D

Go for it greg. But don't do a two car garage, you really need something wider and longer by already 1.5m, also do it taller for the hoist. By the way all the other men are obviously just wipped, sounds like you have your wife under control. Brad

B they way, congrats on 20 years

Highly recommend ozcover. Great quality sheds and they will modify it to whatever you want. Even did some custom engineering on mine to remove a column and widen the bay past their standard design.

Pick out half a dozen or so designs that you like. Give them to her and ask which are the best 3 she likes. In the conversation (over a few weeks - no rush) discuss colour options, cost of plumbing, light and power, plus a concrete driveway. Throw in a water tank for rain harvesting to make it enviro friendly.

Get her to commit on these items and the value. Then wait a while and see if she starts to waiver on the shed idea. If she doesn't get cold feet, then she is up to something. Like maybe she wants the storage space, or is thinking about running a business from home, or a granny flat for the outlaws, etc...

20 years, I bet you have built up some equity on your home. It's not the shed, its how easily are you persuaded to increase your debt and start something new.

Wait a while and it will all flush out....eventually she will let you in on her grand plan.

Hmmm....if you build a shed does that mean the cars go in the shed and the garage on the house gets converted into a.......new kitchen, dining room, TV room, something or other that one of her friends has done to their home? Seen a few too many house and kitchen magazines lying around recently?

I've got had a 5 bay shed. I am now reduced to 2 bays for me and 3 for the wife. She bought a new horse trailer, and I have to build an extension to the shed to fit it in. 5 becomes 6 and I still only get to use 2 !

Be very very careful......

And congratulations on 20 years.

Amateurs U LOT.

I built a 4 car shed by saying it was the long awaited work shop, after completion filled it with cars and then told [ OK suggested ] to the wife that I had decided to build a specialised work shop WITH A HOIST.

All this time she nagged on about not having a dish washer, I told her they were WAY  to dear. Again protests about the money I was going to spend on another shed .

Being the kind considerate bloke that I am I gave in to her and let her have the $26,000 dish washer.

SHED                $22000

WATER TANK      $3000

PLUMBING          $500

DISH WASHER    $500

MORE COMPLAINTS

As I told her if it wasn't for her wanting a dishwasher, we wouldn't be needing water collection , as we live in one of the most arid countries in the world , a shed roof for water harvesting is a must.

End result

One happy wife with a dishwasher and me with a specialist work shop...LOL

I just live by the saying......

"to beg forgiveness is easier than asking permission"

Gets me most of the toys I want, she can't really send a car back from whence it came once it's tucked away in the garage and doesn't discover it for a week or two  ;D
