chino79
Well, after lurking for a few months and absorbing as much Datsun as my work commitments will allow. I thought that it was time to introduce my self, and share my plans for the future. My name is Ray and I usually reside in Canberra I am a Photographer by trade. I have had various cars, most of them boring and sensible. VS Belina, Valiant CL Ute with a 265 Hemi, a Skyline GTST 2.0 (smashed, 6 weeks) back to the Ute, then a VW Golf 2.0 sport. I had plans for most of them but never the Money and the golf is not worth spending a cent on. I needed a car that would keep me happy for more than two years. I am not sure what it was, but I have made a decision. I must have one. I will be purchasing a Datsun 240z mid year, with initial upgrades to include Brakes (F & R Discs), Coilovers, Bushes, Sway bars, Rims, Rust repairs and a few interior upgrades. Engine upgrades will be further down the track. Initially I planed to go with, RB26 Individual Throttle Bodies and EFI on the freshened up L24. After creating an XL spreadsheet and working out price comparisons between the two, I think an RB 25 NA conversion will be the best option for my needs. This will be hopefully done in the first six months, after sorting out all the suspension and breaks I will be enjoying it for a while. Next stage will be a bare metal respray and chassis strengthening. Followed by ITBs, head work, balanced and lightened internals and the ability to rev…… Hope you are all having a great start to the year. Ray (AKA Chino). David David, the Bavarian dream is a Panza that will get on one tank of Dsl from Berlin to Moscow, your car definitely wont achieve either LOL

dat240z
Welcome, nice ideas for the z. I believe if you FAIL to prepare, you PREPARE to fail, however as we know with RB z's especially there are many areas which cannot be planned or just throw a spanner in the works. Just curious on your budget? 30k+ at least i hope
DatPilot
".....just throw a spanner in the works......" In some cases, this is a great modification. Preferably when engine is turned off.... Should see a 50 to 70HP gain at least.
chino79
Thanks mate. I have told myself it will be less than 30k, I will probably spend 30 though. I got a great deal. To begin with I will be running the L24, it has about 10,000 km on it since it was rebuilt. This way I can concentrate on the body and running gear. I can also take my time building a NA RB26. I got some really nice bits with the purchase. I can’t wait to start.
