24 Dat
Hi all, FYI there are a load of us from the ZCCQ doing the Morgan Park Super Sprint "A" Series next year. The first round is on the 3rd and 4th of March so most likely we will be heading up for a Wednesday practice on the Morgan Park track at Warwick mid Feb and again throughout the year . In 2011 it was $100 for a full day practice or $60 for a 1/2 day which includes a covered pit area. I went up a couple of times and it is a great value track day, we only did the 1/2 day getting up there by 10.30, then set up, basically if its not to busy as much time as you like until 2.30 then some of us check into a hotel for those who did not have to rush home, and then of course the ensuing beers, wine etc and lots of zed car bullshiver . then you can get up as early as needed to get back to Brisbane. Its a great day out and you can bring your club car along for the day and dip your toes into what we all get up to on the track, and of course we will be there to lend a hand and offer advice. If it rains the practice is cancelled! You require a CAMS level 2s license and be a member of an Inc. car club and your car needs to be track ready, ie taped lights, double return springs on the carbs or throttle bodies, oil catch tank, taped battery terminals, fire extinguisher, full length cotton clothing etc. etc. This is the reason for the early post on what will be happening next year so if you would like to come up for the days we go up or any of the other practice days you will need to get yourCAMS license sorted. I will be doing separate New Topics each time we are planning to go up, so no need to keep checking this Topic link Cheers Dave
Z
I might not be on the track as I'm too much of a wooss, but knowing when you guys are racing could be a good day to come along and join in the shiver. A few of the Road Warriors came to a track day or two this year, it was a good day out.

dat2kman
Thats a Wednesday, hey David? Will warwick district sporting car club allow non saturday/sunday sprints enteted or series registeted vehicles, to attend their separate paid for practice sessions on the friday prior to each of the 8 sprints wedkends? Fyi guys an oil catch can can be qs simple as a olive oil tin with ypur rocker cover top breather hose fed into it, and the crank case breather hose fed into same thing, make sure it has a few vent holes on top for breathing etc Oh, nother thing, Historic Racing Car Club of Qld is also running a test and tune day on Saturday 25 th February., you dont need to be a member of a cqr club, you dont need to buy a years worth of cams licence, they'll hook you up with all that for the day, and cos its a car club thing, you can drive up and back with your concesdional rego cars, even if you just want to come for a look see. Will be lots of interesting old and new cars there too!
24 Dat
Well Jason if you had the slightest grip on the English language,(which we all know you don't )you would realise when you are talking about more than one Wednesday (ie a few throughtout the year) it is appropriate to add 's i could have also just added the s I think most people will get that i am talking about more than one Wednesday, obviously you didn't! Re the practice: it is available to anyone to run on the Wednesday practice it is just the Friday practice before the Sprint weekends that are for competitors only! dat2kman
Pretty much every wednesday (sssssssssssssssssss!) is track practice at Morgan Park, yes you will need to obtain a cams licence and show you are a member of any club that is cams affiliated, dont have to be an Inky club. If anyone wanted to run, it'd be a good idea to contact WDSSCar club prior to going to check if its scheduled, as sometimes, it isnt, due to other events, and yes if it raining its not on. Sometimes you can be lucky, and only a half dozen are there, other times it is chockers! Mostly attended by the Warwick and locals, but all are welcome. Biggest issue, it's middle of the week gggrrr, be better if they did it on a friday prior to tne sprints weekend, they used to let all and sundry do it, but with 120or so turning up for the weekend, it gets busy on a friday. Oh, and it is not "racing" no racing occurs, it is lap dash/sprints, you are timed individually on the weekend, but no timing is done on Friday/Wednesday. Daffyd, is my spelling orright know??? 24 Dat
yes you will need to obtain a cams licence and show you are a member of any club that is cams affiliated, dont have to be an Inky club. Jason in order for a club to become a CAMS affiliated Club the club actually has to be Incorporated before it is accepted (you make it to easy sometimes) That's got to be the easiest post to read you have ever made, not perfect but it will do! Did you get someone to show you how to use the spell check button?
260DET
Behave you two Yeh it is worth emphasising that anyone who wants to run on a CAMS regulated track like MP has to be a member of a CAMS affiliated club, like the ZCCQ Inc.
