So when is the next meet? - I want another drive in the yellow turbo Z :D Lets have a meet on the mount dandenong - the one tree hill one for example - enough space for cars (unless we get more than 20) and a relatively quite space with BBQ on hand :D I am up for one as soon as possible

i went for a drive around this area the other day, just keep looping around any sealed roads i could find then eventually looked at a map so i didn't have to travel ages to get back home! there's a pub in panton hill i believe, there's also a cafe i saw at watsons creek, if not could drive out to kingslake (past top right of map) as my bro said i should of gone out there as it gets really twisty. or could meet up at the warrandyte strip of shopes or pound bend for a bbq etc before or after the drive

very similar types of roads to on mt dandy just not as common so less traffic, i was only stuck behind cars on the way out to kangaroo ground, and most of the roads have a limit of 80-100 so no need to worry about loosing ur licence!

Thats a great area for a cruise and we can organise a drive day at the meet. As far as the meeting goes we were thinking of commiting to a time and place for members to talk as apposed to a drive day. From past meets it seems we currently have alot of project cars on the go in anticipation of summer. An informal drive day can then be discussed at that meeting which will most likely be a week night drinks/dinner or BBQ!??
I've just got back from holidays and I'm planning on getting together with a couple of the guys to sort out some of the details. I think we've got a few places to work with regarding a poll for the meeting venue. We'll organise a poll shortly and confirm details soon after!

Cheers,
Sulio

I am in Langwarrin , south eastern, and i am trying to decide which club to join for sprints mainly.

I used to be in the mini club with my zed and that raised a few aeyebrows but they are a great bunch of people and their event organisation is second to none in my apinion.

I did my last spring before the rebild with the Nissan car club and was very impressed with them also.
I may join them i think. Any ideas guys ?

gday Graedat,
I am currently a member of Nissan Car Club (I'm Treasurer).
There is a growing contingent of Z's down their.
It would be good to get a few more Z's in the sprint series next year.
There is around 6 events run between Sandown and Phillip Island.
The Sprint champion for this year i think is Daniel Devenish in his 260Z.
cheers
Bruce

Hi Guys,

The new year is a few days away and the Nationals will be here in Easter. It would be nice to have a VicZcar meet before this. Based on this thread we have come up with the following suggested venues for meeting locations.

1. Jag Club - Springvale
2. Tower Hotel - Hawthorn East
3. Bells Hotel - Sth Melbourne
4. East Malvern RSL

Just for interest sake I have compiled a quick list of where all Victorian members are located. As you can see form the numbers below many have Melbourne as a location. I doubt all these people live in the actual CBD but I've counted them as it's all the info we have as far as they go!

MELBOURNE - 31 Members
NORTHERN SUBURBS OF MELBOURNE - 2
EASTERN SUBURBS - 21*
WESTERN SUBURBS - 6
COUNTRY VICTORIA - 9

*I've counted Sth Eastern suburbs as East.

Any comments before we put this up as an official poll???

Sulio

I'm not sure if this is relevant, but in the area of panton hill where evan was talking about, there is a zed wrecker which i visit reguarly.
Just thought you might want to know in case u wanted to combine a nice drive and a visit to a genuine early zed wrecker.
Oh, and my votes for the meeting place is as far west as possible :D .

What's the address of this wrecker? I'd definately want to visit an early Zcar wrecker :).

Yer I'd like to know where that one is also? However for this first meet lets just make it a week day BBQ and some drinks. We can discuss a drive day at the venue we choose.

I've started the poll, please refer to POLLS on forum menu to vote!

Thanks,
Sulio

G'day Sulio,
Your plan sounds like a good one.
Personally I would be happy with the Jag Club. I thought the Tower Hotel was know more! But I am happy to attend any location in Melbourne as long as we can cordon off some sort of area so our goup can be segregated somehow. Since most of us don't know each other it could be a problem if we were all just hanging out at a Pub. I could end up talk some Zed grap to some HSV dude who doesn't give a rats. :-) Ha

The Jag Club and RSL would have a charge attached to their rooms.
Unless someone is prepared to underwrite the expense then a pub is the best option...

I'm sure between Gav, Sulio & myself - & prob a few others - we could work out something, if everyone wanted to use the Jag. or RSL rooms.

Guys, I've just inquired about the Jag/Healey club rooms at Springvale.

Basically, the cost for a night at the end of Jan. is $100.
I'm sure between Gav, Sulio & myself we could work something out.

If we want the Bar open, it would be $150 - we possibly might charge a door fee to cover the extra cost?

Anyway, something to think about guys...

I guess we need to get a showing of numbers willing to attend. The cost isn't too bad, but it wouldn't really be worthwhile if only 5 blokes show up :).

Well looking at the poll re location the Jag Club is clearly the preffered location so Lurch that sounds doable, can we book it for the night of Wed 31st of Jan? Lets not worry too much about the money situation we'll organise it between ourselves perhaps even find a sponsor if time allows.
