The Z garage mentions a few obscure australian heads (http://www.geocities.com/zgarage2001/) but nothing about an 05L? Where'd you get it from anyways?

(I'm resisting the urge to ask if you read the right number :P)

*EDIT*

Well, you're not alone, according to google search....

Little bit of discussion, Gav240 was in that one, might know bit more about it...

From what I can discover, its a head from an L20ET (R30 Skyline, C30 Laurel, Jap spec S130) and possibly very rare - hang on to it?

This "NISSAN SKYLINE JDM 05L L20ET HEAD RARE" popped up on one of my google trawls, but I couldn't find it on the site...

From the looks of it they are off the L20 I don't think they are anything special but if you are curious maybe you can do what I did when deciding which engine head to use.

Around the corner from Costa's old shop in Moorabbin was a cylinder head place they are doing the work on my P90 they flow benched both the P90 and the E88 I bought with large cam and port work. They recommended i go with the P90 even though the P90 had not been ported before.

You can see the difference though looking at some of the heads side by side the L28 engine heads have noticibly bigger ports.

The O5L head is off an L20-ET 1998cc OHC 6 cylinder, EFI, turbo 144hp Skyline (Japan only).1980

I've been researching the info as I have a complete engine with the same head on it.

Chances are your car has at some stage been modified to turbo.then maybe if the turbo was taken off the head was left. does it have a turbo manifold?

As I understand it, an L28 will accept a simple swap over of all the turbo bits off this engine. I haven't found any info on the cc rating or mechanical details of the valves or cams etc but I'm looking so I'll repost updtaes.
