Rust removal and painting

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am going to get some rust repaired and then the whole car resprayed. Does anyone have any recommendations on the western or northern side of Melbourne for panel work or painting ?

it's nowhere near the right area but Rob down at Zworx (Mordialloc) is probably the best guy in melbourne for body work on a Z (he's done a wonderful job on mine), damn thorough and knows them backwards.

Just my two cents.

71 240, almost there.

Hi Warren,

Not sure if this guys still running his shop since last time I was there he was thinking of leasing the building out to another beater and retiring but give him a go seeing I got my car painted there in two pack for $2500 including repairs. The business name is PLASTIC FANTASTIC, (he does alot of plastic and fibreglass bumber/spoiler repairs too).

Ask for Paul ph.03 9364 1755.

Last time I was there he had a rust free 240 that was about to be sprayed. He bought the car ages ago and it's just been sitting in there. Ask about it if you do call him and update us on that one!

Cheers

Sulio

if you want cheap and decent qaulity go to fantastic plastics, you should get a whole job for around the 1200-1500 mark, but be prepared to get a better job done in 3-5years down the track....

Zworx can be trusted 80%of the time, ive got to send my car there for final rust prep before i get it sent to my painter which i havnt decided on yet....

paint wise, look at spending 3-5k for a decent job, with 3-4coats and 6-12coats of clear, as what i am looking at getting, most likely be going to Rocky in tullamarine, which will cost me 3750 for basically a bare metal respray, but that includes some panel work, and engine bay etc... in bmw green, mmm can't wait...

After the comments and talking to others it is looking like ZWorx for the body work and a painter elswhere.
