Sirpent
Nice one Mick, Didnt we cover that process in a previous thread? Im thinking of doing a written / visual tutorial on Epoxy Polyester preperation, application and finishing, since you havnt stripped your panels yet why dont you do one on paint stripping also and we can add it the the Bodywork area? MaygZ
On behalf of all the 'challenged' people on this forum - that would be great!!

Brabham
Hey Rev, what diff ratio is your zed? I heard that auto 240 zeds run a 3.36. Is this right? Cheers.
Scoota G
Hey Rev, what diff ratio is your zed? I heard that auto 240 zeds run a 3.36. Is this right? Cheers. Yea but Revs is a 260Z
C.A.R.
No they dont. 240Z Auto's run a 3.54 - same as 260Z Auto's.
Brabham
So the 3.36 was an option or was in the manual 240/260Z 2 seater? Cheers.
C.A.R.
It appears to have been an option - if at all...
C.A.R.
The good Rev. dropped into my place this arvo with his front guards that are in need of some TLC... I'll be tackling the LHS guard tomorrow - it's in a fair sorry state, worse than the RHS one... New Panel welded in & the badge holes filled on the RHS guard:

reverendzed
well done bro! this may get me back on my time line of when the Zed should be finished! tidy work!
NZeder
that's what we like to see - out with the bad rusty stuff and in with the new metal - given these cars have lasted 40 years so far - and with people like Lurch and owners like Rev - the zed's will live for another 40+ years
C.A.R.
OK... The LHS guard was a little tricky as the innder stiffing panel was G O N E ! So while the outer panel was a doddle, the innder required me to get the ol' creative thinking cap on. Thankfully I had MY Zed next door to test fit the guard on to make sure it lined up OK (which it did). Pics:

reverendzed
well whilst Lurchos was helping with the guards I've been busy with the roof, rear quarters, rear and doors which have been stripped to bare metal, panel work done, etched and then primed (awaiting high fill) hope to start on the guards and bonnet this weekend - still aiming for paint by end of Feb. Moderators Zedman240® Posted January 21, 2010 Moderators Share Posted January 21, 2010 I hope you're not going to sell it after all this hard work! You're fast becoming an Oz version of "Wrecks to Riches" but with zeds!
reverendzed
No Dimitri, this one is my keeper, however I've been asked to buy a 240z and do a complete refirb by another member so I'll have more than enough to keep me busy!
