They are similar but not identical, the Japanese panel has a long cut-out for the badge instead of an indentation. GT-R models may be a different matter.

Ah, I get what your saying, but thats not the skyline badge I thought it was. There is another (like the GT-R had) that is the same as the Datsun type badge that fits in the indent.

Like so: http://farm5.static...._1c22ee0ff6.jpg

Are you going to put a set of GT tail lights on it?

For some reason that particular badge is very hard to find, don't know why there aren't repros of it readily available. If I find a set of GT lights I will put them in, but not too fussed about that right now.

That set turned out to be a bit pricey, but I picked up a different set. I got a Skyline badge too, still want it?

Ok I've decided to go with a fresh set of Watanabes on my 110. If anybody is interested the Rota RBs seen on this thread are for sale:
Two 17x8.5 +4 with 215/45 Bridgestones, about 6mm tread
Two 17x9.5 -19 with 235/45 Bridgestones, about 4mm tread
The wheels are essentially brand new - never driven on.
$1100 for the set.

Watanabe normally recommend a 16x8.5 -6 for the front with ZG flares, but some people prefer the 16x9 -13, which effectively sits the outer edge of the wheel 12mm further out.
I think you could safely fit the 17x8.5 +4 Rotas with a 20mm spacer, as this still puts the outside edge 2mm further in than a pair of 16x9 -13s.
I will include a pair of 20mm spacers if anyone wants to do this.

Ok back to the car. Some good progress now, I have got the RB30E engine and gearbox sitting in the car, pretty much a perfect fit. Only needs plates welded onto the original mounts for the engine, not sure about the gearbox mount yet. 240K tailshaft will be fine without mods. Gearlever also in the right place.

The engine is now sitting in place properly. With a bit of mild violence I got the R31 mounts to fit in the 240K crossmember.
Also picked up a set of used extractors and had them ceramic coated.

I'm being really anal here but the engine in that photo above looks great, but when you stick that RB30 rocker cover and inlet manifold on its like having Miranda Kerr's body and sticking Julia Gillards head on top :o

You're gunna have to work hard to make the look as good as the rest of the car. You might get away with the rocker cover if you put some DCOE's or ITB's on the RB.

One of my suppliers give me this pic today, a fibreglass copy of an S20 cam cover. I remember someone asking how to make their engine look like an S20, well here's the answer! They can also do them in carbon fibre.

;)

Yes, thought of that already. Looking at making an ITB set-up for it after I get it registered.

Not sure if you are interested, unless you already have one, but a Nissan Datsun club memeber in Vic has a triple Weber manifold for an RB30 single cam head he isn't using..I can find out more info if you want...
