reverendzed
Since the manual conversion and the 'lurch' specified cam it seems that to get me off the line quicker I'm going to have to swap out my diff, any ideas of what I should do? should I be getting a 3.9 or something else, is there any other easy options in the Nissan range that I could swap in? would really appreciate some feedback on this. zr240
Hi Rev I run a 3.7 in the racecar and a 3.9 in the road car. both are std zed diffs (well ratios anyway ) I always thought 4.1 was a little to much but thats just my 2 cents worth Ash
24OZ
what ratio are you currently running? what size rims/tyres,maybe a lower profile would bridge the gap?
C.A.R.
Since the manual conversion and the 'lurch' specified cam Don't blame me!
reverendzed
It's ALL good Lurch I feel kinda privilaged actually having a 'prescribed' setup!
Moderators Zedman240® Posted September 18, 2008 Moderators Share Posted September 18, 2008 I found a 3.9 diff is a great all rounder. Good for the highway and for the circuits if that was something you would want to do in the future. If you have a 3.7 now keep that while you do the search. A 4.1 might be a tad low if you run on the freeways often. Also, what gearbox have you got fitted? 260 or 280?
reverendzed
Hey Dimitri....It's a 260 box...sounds like a 3.9 is the way to go.
Moderators Zedman240® Posted September 18, 2008 Moderators Share Posted September 18, 2008 With a 260 box, 3.9 is the best ratio to get! If you had a 280 box, first gear would be over in no time thanks to the 3.2:1 first gear ratio. Just keep on the lookout!
620Z
Yeah Rev 3.9 should be the go for overall performance. LSD's are bit pricey and hard to find but they are there if you look long enough.
