Mr Camouflage
Im guilty, Ive purchased a car with this kit, long been scrapped, should have kept it might have been worth something Haven't seen someone put the Cal Z rear fenders on a 2+2 before. They were only meant for the a 2 seater.
d3c0y
This had a thorougher body job and all bog and rust removed, by my ex-girlfriend. If you want a super straight base for a restoration this is the car. Apparently the paint has gone funny on it, but it isn't hiding anything underneath. It would just be sand back and spray. Probably one of the most honest cars on here for sale. This car has been on Gumtree for 2 days, so I am not sure why one of the eagle-eyed members here hasn't added it yet. 1976 Datsun 240Z Coupe $25,000.00 Parkwood QLD 4214 http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/parkwood/cars-vans-utes/1976-datsun-240z-coupe/1095213965 "260z 2 x seat Z this is the upgrade by the factory of the 240z to the 260Z same chassis this car has had the larger rails installed twin spot disc brakes to front all original brakes to rear neoprene everywhere koni adjustable shocks 280z motor with some work done eg cam SU carbies ( not the useless hitachi carbs) extractors new seats fully adjustable brand new tyres original Z wheels with tyres included brand new dash brand new centre console 3 core aluminium radiator bad points : paint job, looks good in photos but has blemishes. car does not have any rust at all goes great starts every time always garaged truly a collectible vehicle" * Edit (18 Nov) - I have just noticed something strange about this car - it looks like it only has a fender mounted indicator light on the driver's side. dat240z
Cant be too honest if its described as a 1976 240z for sale!!! Id say its about 10g overpiced - especially if you compare it to recent for sales like Matts 260z. Just my humble opinion

Administrators gav240z Posted November 19, 2015 Author Administrators Share Posted November 19, 2015 I was wondering if it might have been called a 1976 240Z because of this. Simple, during rust repair the guard was replaced with a 240z item. Not everyone cares for the minor details like say I or you would . Cant be too honest if its described as a 1976 240z for sale!!! Id say its about 10g overpiced - especially if you compare it to recent for sales like Matts 260z. Just my humble opinion It is over priced, that thing looks like it has been thrown together. Just said the body is good under the paint issues. But is it really over priced? I personally don't think so, sure it's not period correct colour the paint isn't the best from the sounds of it. However if it is a solid body car it's always worth paying extra for that in my opinion. I think cars like the 12K 260z coupe we saw recently are the exception not rule, as the early girl bingo thread highlights of the first 240z's in the country not many are left, those that are are in various states of disrepair often or have been modified extensively and very few have come up for sale. Many of these cars have been in the same hands for a long time. So rarely appear on the market. If the numbers on 260z coupe's are to be believed there is even less 2 seater 260z's than there were 240z's imported. I think we can all agree they are very rare to see on the road now. 240z, 260z, 260z 2+2 even 280zx's are seldom seen these days. In 240z_au's thread he mentioned the acid dipping guys hadn't seen a 240z come in, so either nobody has dipped a 240z or most of the classics they see are other makes and not S30z's. Again another indicator that what we have is very rare now. In Japan an S31 is probably selling for 20-30K AUD and often in no better condition. It's much more expensive to import a car than buy 1 locally, sure you can get a LHD car from the US but even that's getting harder and the increasing popularity of the S30z means it's only going to get harder. But maybe I just value S30z's different to everyone else, and so long as you guys undervalue them and want to sell parts cheap I'm happy to buy them lol.. d3c0y
The dumb thing is most people will buy one in much worse condition and end up spending more fixing the body and making a complete car. oldmates260z

ScottyD
Very nice 260 2 seater http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Datsun-260Z-1976/SSE-AD-3702334/?Cr=2 Asking $43,000 Seller's CommentOriginal 1976 2-seater Datsun 260Z, ice blue, sought after rare 305 colour with cream interior, 5sp man, with an original matching number motor and 75,000 original klms. This rare vehicle is part of a private collection and has been extremely well looked after. Interior is in good original condition. Car even has original carpets. Vehicle retains all original and working components, including factory air conditioning. Only clock doesn’t work. Central locking and immobiliser put on car prior to my ownership. Car had a light paint in the 80s to freshen it up, but never been touched since. Car is rust free, and has never been smashed or even dinged. Underneath matches rest of car, with no damage anywhere. Jack line is straight. All correct indentations from factory still on car. Car completely checked with magnet to show no filler on car. Car comes with comprehensive documentation including the factory vinyl wallet holding the original delivery, warranty and stamped service booklet. It even has original Nissan identification card, key and tools. This highly sought after and unmolested vehicle will only be sold to someone who will look after it. Car comes from a genuine collector’s stable, and is only being sold to make room for new vehicles. In over the 10 years I’ve owned this car, it has never been registered. Car has been started every month and gets an hour’s highway run every three months. This very original and pretty car is in excellent condition, and has the right patina for its age. Gets attention everywhere it goes. Cars in this condition are uncommon and do not come up for sale. Seize the opportunity to own this rare and iconic collectible, as all early model Zeds are rising in value worldwide. Edited November 21, 2015 by gav240z Include photos and description. GongZ
Is this at all like Deviled eggs, because I like those? Has the car been boiled and covered in curry? "Devil Z" is a reference to the S30Z in the Japanese movie "Wangan Midnight" - but this car is not very similar to the blue 240Z in that movie at all. (Apart from the fact that, as has been pointed out in another topic here, when the car is originally seen in a wrecking yard - it is a 2+2) Edited November 24, 2015 by GongZ
Iceberg
Very nice 260 2 seater http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Datsun-260Z-1976/SSE-AD-3702334/?Cr=2 Asking $43,000 I am pretty sure this is not as original as stated. 260z had vinyl tunnel color to match the interior color. At least mine does and from what i read this was the case for all of them. 260z had chrome strips on the interior leather behind the seats/above the dog leg. Air box did not come color coded? So it has new carpets and at least some parts have been re trimmed. Never the less, what a tidy and clean example.
