I'm in Ballarat and just as a note here are the parts available for a Z in Ballarat.

1 x e88 cylinder head At sebastopol motor wreckers Price $150

1 x L24 electronic distributor At central motor wreckers Price $110

And thats it. I have more parts for Z's than all the Ballarat wreckers combined.

I have an N42 Head but it's on my car, the other one i have is E88 and has been crack tested.

Ah, Honestly i Don't Know much about the engines, I'm just following a mates Guide on what to do, - ill list what he was saying and see it it helps.

When we pulled the head of the engine(L28 on 240z Carbs), The end cylinder has had water running through it, - Head screwed, Bottom end Look's ok, - No marks on the inside of the cylinders - Looks like it may have been reco'd Quite recently,

Gasket has a Good chunk taken out of it, Rubber seal around valve cover Gone as well

Camshaft has Slight rust occurring on surface- don't think it would be an issue,

Ill get some pictures tomorrow, But I'm basically looking for the easiest/Cheapest option as i want to try and have the car finished For a bunch of my mates Year 12 formal's.

Scootag, I Don't really know whether or not we could use the E88 head But ill ask my mates advice in the morning Thanks mate Michael

Hey guys, Was away yesterday so couldnt post, :P

I Actually found a guy at work who used to have a 240z with the same engine/carb setup as i have, He told me that Best option is going with a N42 head again (May be wrong but best i can remember of the Bucketload he had to tell :P)

another N42 head would be best as A different Head could cause more compression resulting in the bottom End not being able to handle it, Resulting in more money =P

Also Can anyone tell me whether i need a Carb setup head or whether one with fuel injection would work,

So If anyones Selling a N42 head Let me know,

Thanks guys Michael
