If i get the opportunity to build one in my final year of uni (2009) i'll definetly take it. Been doing a bit of research on it and takes quite a bit of $$$. LOL have more power pitty has to be all retuned. i was thinking what will happend in say 10-15 years time when petrol be very expensive. what will the old buggers run on. i though EU has some bio fuel. which cant be all that bad. be similar to leaded and unleaded issues we had few years ago. so wont be all that grim. otherwise hybrid powered Z. than hybridZ website will have all new meaning. man i just love how my Z sounds now and dont want to change it ever. NZeder Posted May 5, 2008 Share Posted May 5, 2008 Funny thing I read the other day was about the carbon foot print of those Toymota Hybridz. The raw materials for the batteries come from South America (or the like) then are shipped to Malaysia were they make the batteries which are shipped to Japan to be installed into the Toymota and Honda Hybridz. These are then sold to the US in large numbers because the hollwood stars want to be doing the right thing and getting 100MPG out of there hybridz. Then when the batteries are dead (10 year later) they need to be shipped back to Malaysia for the correct recycling etc so with all this travelling for the batteries and batteries materials they produce 3 times the carbon foot print of a 100% petrol powered car. So now that I have done a lot of research on this what is the point - and were are the keys to a 1970's XJ12 that does 6-8 MPG out of the mechanical FI V12.
