Touring Tassie - March '18

Recommended Posts

Justin's post (here) has whet the appetite even more for our upcoming Tassie trip.

Occurred to me that perhaps most (all?) LSx powered Zeds will be in Tassie at the one time and it might be a chance for me to catch up with a few.

Preliminary planning suggest a schedule something like this;

Day 1 Devonport - Cradle Mountain

Day 2 Strahan - Queenstown

Day 3 Drive to Hobart

Day 4-5 Port Arthur and East Coast

Day 6 Tamar Valley

Day 7 Launceston (Longford  :)) Devonport

Mick, Justin, Scott, et al - If I will be travelling close to your location, I wonder if you could PM me so we might be able to work something out.

Hi Peter,

Sounds good and it should be lovely weather that time of the year as well.

I’m glad you liked the videos posted though never looks as good when in video. I took quite a few that day and did about a five hour drive today and took more videos but I wasn’t using the A/C and had the drivers window down, not the best idea as there is a fair bit of wind noise especially on a couple of the straights when I gave it a quick stab to just over 200km/hr lol, so from now on windows up when video is going.

Will see you in March.

Justin

post-100123-0-87721000-1516622524_thumb.jpgSeems like all Tassie Zed's are V8 nowadays ! Not LS powered but still an impressive HP figure I'd wager

Any one know who & where?

Cheers

Mick. 4,200 km plus and I didn't even lift the bonnet.

Nothing broke, fell off or was nicked, and not a drop of rain.

I was most impressed with 7.8 ltrs/100km fuel consumption - The overdrive 6th speed, 26" dia rear tyres and tall diff had it doing 115km/h at 1400 revs.

Followed Jeff's suggestion and dropped in at the Zeehan museum - wonderful stuff.

The highlight (for me) was visiting Longford and driving on what remains of the old circuit. Long-haired, young whipper snappers like yourself weren't even a glint in your father's eye when the circuit closed.
