OdinZ
Two questions, but might be able to be solved as one. (i hope this is right Gav, if not, i will start a new thread in correct categories) I am after a complete Heater Hose Kit for my 76 2+2, do they exist and where is the best place to get it from. also, is there a complete hose kit available anywhere? asking for a friend with a 77 2+2 (assume this is the same for my 76) cheers Ned P.S. i have looked through the forum for Hose Kits, but cant seem to find one for my model, there are complete kits for 240's though
0 gilltech
Just use generic hoses of matching diameter if the 240Z set - which AFAIK is the only type currently available - won't work with your heater. The pre-moulded shape of one of the 260Z heater hoses on mine was impossible to match without kinking so I just cut it much longer and looped it around in a full circle, it's been like that for decades without an issue and is up under the dash where no-one can even see it anyway. 0 KatoKid
Be careful with hoses bought from the US as they can be LHD specific OdinZ
0 OdinZ
Be careful with hoses bought from the US as they can be LHD specific ah right, yeah that would make sense for the engine bay, i would assume the heater hoses wouldnt be different though? now to also find the dreaded heater valve/c0ck
0 OdinZ
***Edit to this question+additional question*** 1. Does anyone know where i can buy the exact shape/size heater hoses for my model? i want to replace them when i pull out the heater cock to attempt to rebuild it. 2. As mentioned above, I will be removing the heater cock to replace o-rings (if perished), I did notice when inspecting it, the little "outlet knob" on top does not have anything connected to it, should there be? I believe my zed had aircon once upon a time, really wish it still had it, but that's another post. Also, would I be correct in assuming I need to bleed all of the coolant to change the heater hoses & fix the heater tap?

Thanks, will do that. Do you know anything about the top of the valve tap?
0 gilltech
I don't recall a nozzle or knob or whatever it might be on top of the valve tap, if anything. I'll have to take a look this weekend, it's been very many years since I replaced those hoses. OdinZ
0 gilltech
Have just checked by feel, and there's no nozzle or knob or whatever on top, but in fact I could feel a shaped hole where some fitting could slot in. My car is a very early '74, has quite a bit of cross-over with the late 240 so might have same heater box, and it doesn't have any luxuries or frills like A/C, so might not be a good comparison to yours. Sorry I can't be of more help. OdinZ
0 OdinZ
Ah right. Yeah would say they are different, especially because mine had aircon at one point in its life. Thanks for your help and checking though.
