HomeBuiltByJeff
Are my 240Z's doors completely rusted out and junk? They have been covered up with a mountain of bog and paint, so this week I strip them down and see if I can save them. AndBir

HomeBuiltByJeff
Love the "out-take" at the end of that video I have out takes on most of the videos. Usually it is Mrs Jeff struggling with the script, but she has started getting better with the car terminology which is ruining my bloopers
Andrew_L26
I wouldn't say they're beyond repair. Looks like you've just about finished one of them anyway! Keep it up! Andrew HomeBuiltByJeff

luvemfast
I enjoy your video's working on the Z. Haven't looked at the others, looks like you pretty much document everything! Your missus must be understanding and very supportive, she's a keeper. Also. Vernier calipers are only accurate and should only be trusted within 0.1mm. If you need to measure to hundredth's of a mm, you should use micrometers. HomeBuiltByJeff
HomeBuiltByJeff
This week I work away at finishing that terrible door. It is a lot of rust and a lot of work, but I am stubborn enough to keep at it. AndBir, luvemfast and JDM-TOY
JDM-TOY
Hey mate looks like you have played the violin with all that shoulder and chin work you were doing balancing that door lol Love to see rust repairs being done but Im too fearful of doing it myself Keep up the good work
HomeBuiltByJeff
Haha, it does look like that. I was actually looking along the door to make sure I was keeping the panel flat whilst tacking it together. JDM-TOY
HomeBuiltByJeff
This week I have been back at it, cutting rust out of these doors. I am quite happy with how the repairs are coming along, but it is so time consuming. JDM-TOY and 24TZ

I'll be keeping up with the progress Thanks mate. In some ways it is slow going, but with the pressure of weekly videos, it doesn't sit forgotten in the back of the shed. Dionysus
Hi Jeff Just started watching your series.. Great work and inspiring. With the time lapse it's difficult to see how much time you leave between welds.. I know the mig welds are tough but maybe try giving it a few taps with a small hammer to release the tension in the metal in between each weld.. Thanks John HomeBuiltByJeff
HomeBuiltByJeff
What I have found now, is I don't tend to get much warping with the welding itself. There was more that came through the grinding. Now I have recently switched from hard grinding discs to coarse flap discs it seems to be much better. It still grinds back the weld quickly, but it seems to put less heat into the panel.
HomeBuiltByJeff
This week I gave paint stripper another go, and it works much better if it there are not 20 layers of paint and bog. The whole car is almost rust free now, just a couple of small bits to go.
Ponyo240z
Your porche time lapse made the road and track website US Andrew_L26 and HomeBuiltByJeff
HomeBuiltByJeff
Your porche time lapse made the road and track website US It has gone completely viral, it's crazy. On my facebook it has over 800k views, on Car Throttle's it has over 2.5M views. Then more views on Jalopnik and it currently has about 94k on YouTube. It is insane, I thought it would be a popular video, but never dreamed of that. CBR Jeff
Haha. Different strokes for different folks. I spent quite a few dollars and lots of time getting rid of rust and returning my rear guards/quarters to as close to original as I could. In 30 seconds on the video you just cut yours off!! Nice work, if you like flairs. Jeff. HomeBuiltByJeff
