Hi Gav and others,

Could the "Latest Posts" section on the right hand side of the screen of the" Forum page" be extended to 10 (if not more) of the "Latest Posts" rather than the current 5, as some relevant  issues could be easily missed as sometimes, some threads tend to take over thread posts?

Cheers

Dave

I'll be upgrading to a new version of the software soon. I'll look at making changes then, since it's likely i'll have to reconfigure a bunch of stuff.

I think the difference is that the 'new content' only allows you to see new topics not new posts. So you then click on a topic to see the posts in that topic and back to see the new content and then again on another topic.
More to-ing and fro-ing, particularly when viewed on a smart phone. Pretty simple in full site mode though.

+1 for more latest posts if feasible.

New content shows new posts to existing threads as well as new threads. It's pretty much the only way I browse the forums on my phone.

"View new content" shows latest posts on topics, in descending time/date order.
Anything in a faded typeface, is what you have read, on your last visit.

It works well, and is simple to have a quick look, f you visit the site every few days.

Yeah sorry, I didn't describe that very well.
What I mean is that the 'new content' button shows you all the topics that contain content you have not viewed before but you still need to click on each thread to reveal the new content. From memory the older software had a 'latest posts' or similar button that showed the 50 or so most recent posts in date order. If you viewed the forum regularly, It was a single click to reveal all the most recent content as opposed to clicking into a thread then back to new content and into another thread and back to new content again.

not sure if it shows on a phone because im always on a computer, but if you are in the new content window there is a little down arrow at the end of each thread that expands to show the last post or 2 on that thread.

I pretty much only use "New content that i haven't read".

Rarely go to anywhere else, including homepage.

Just wondering if any of you have used the filters down the left hand side?

Hi Gav,

You posted at the right time for me. I usually have the last week of posts but it had changed to only a couple of posts. I must have clicked on to 24hr posts accidentally. This pointed me in the right direction to fix my problem.

Cheers.
