Hi all,

I'm another lurker from the UK.  I have a 370Z (had it from new in October 2009) and have always longed for a 240Z or 260Z.

My '70 has been in Japanese Performance magazine and on Car SOS - both with a 240Z and so that's not helped dampen my passion for a Datsun!

I'm reading and learning as much as I can about the early cars :)

Is your 70 model HLS30 or HS30? UK market original car or import?

Don't know if you missed the boat there Gav. I read it as he has not got a 240z or 260z but is referring to his 370z as the "70".

Maybe I'm wrong. It is early in WA.

I think the boat sailed quietly past and Gav didn't notice a thing.

Yes, I was referring to the 370Z.  Sorry for the confusion!

Can anyone tell me if they know of any differences between the Australian 240Z / 260Z and the UK ones?  I assume you guys have AC in yours...?!

I'm just wondering about the possibility of buying a car out there and importing it in the UK.  Are there any firms that do exports?

Paul. I notice you're a member on the 'Z Club' forum. There are several thread on that site about Aussie Imports.

You are best to ask someone your end who has been through the process.

What you might find attractive is the 2+2 which is, to date, been somewhat cheaper in Oz than a 2 seater. I don't believe 2+2s were imported to the UK so you could have something quite unique.

Quite a few 2+2S in the UK. I am also pretty sure they were sold new there.

I can't vouch for them or anything of course, but from what I've seen "Fourways Engineering" in the UK have been involved with a lot of the Zs (AU exports or not) that people from the UK have posted about here. I think someone from there may have even made an introduction thread on here at some point.

I used Iron Lady Imports to export my FD RX-7 from Ireland(Dublin) to Sydney.

I'm sure they can help going the other way.

Not that I want to see our cars leave the country... :(
