timtim
Hey does anyone have any idea how to get custom dash guages such as the ones in the pictures second picture i got it from http://www.speedhunters.com/2011/10/car_feature_gt_gt_star_road_s30_fairlady_z/
Administrators gav240z Posted January 12, 2017 Administrators Share Posted January 12, 2017 I'm pretty sure they are Defi gauges stuffed into S30Z housings. That car was built by Star Road.
Cozza
Not sure the pics posted by Timtim are of the same car you posted the vid of Gav. I think the right hand of the centre dash cluster is boost but the car in the vid appears to be NA. Nice looking engine bay all the same ? timtim
Its two different cars custom guages i would like to if you have a link for the guages that he used @gav
Administrators gav240z Posted January 13, 2017 Administrators Share Posted January 13, 2017 Both built by Star Road and using similar gauges I assume. I just found this. http://skillard.com/products/45-gauge-mounting-bracket Which would help with custom gauge mounting in stock pods. You can also look at SpeedHut for custom gauges etc.. Personally not my thing, so not something I've done much research into. Check this thread out. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/12906-240z-speedhut-gauge-install/
garvice
Slightly off topic but you can pretty much create any graphic you want if you do it yourself. I went the original design but with new electronics. http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/86016-vdo-tacho-original-type-face/?&p=815654&do=findComment&comment=815654 Edited January 14, 2017 by garvice
PeterAllen
Turned my Smiths (Jaguar) gauges into Veglia (Ferrari) just using MS Word. nizm0zed
Enzo
Looking Good. Pretty talented for an old guy Peter. LOL. I have the white face conversion for the original gauges that I bought years ago from the USA. Never got around to fitting them. The speedo is in MPH. Has anyone ever done a replacement white face in KPH to suit Aussie cars. Ok. Back to the shed for more work. David.
Administrators gav240z Posted January 15, 2017 Administrators Share Posted January 15, 2017 How on earth did you use Microsoft word to design gauges? Professional silk screening would make them look OEM.
PeterAllen
Crikey... Don't you young long-haired fellas know anything about computers? Scan the original dial and import it to Word. Then just use the 'Draw Tools' to position and overlay the new text and/or images. Take it to Officeworks and have a matt finish A4 photo sheet printed ($3). Cut out the image of the dial - ask your mum to do it if you're not yet allowed to use scissors - and then attach the cut out dial to the original dial with double sided tape. I'll email you one... provided you know how to use e-mail? Edited January 15, 2017 by PeterAllen gav240z and andyk_79

Enzo
LOL ROFL That's the extent of my computer lingo. Good to see we have a worthy challenger in the older ranks Peter. Keep up the good work. David.
Administrators gav240z Posted January 15, 2017 Administrators Share Posted January 15, 2017 I was more impressed that he used Microsoft Word for it, didn't think it would be the most suitable platform for it. Necessity is the mother of invention I guess. I have Photoshop and Illustrator, which i'll use to trace these out.. There is also a good tutorial here for a Mazda MX-5 cluster. https://mazda626.net/topic/39309-making-custom-gauge-faces/ A couple of other resources: http://www.screenprintingforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=1810 http://www.scionlife.com/forums/scion-tc-1g-ice-interior-1647/%2A-ledmod-coms-newest-addition-custom-gauge-face-samples-151336/
