Hey Folks,

Anyone in North Brisbane able to collect something on my behalf? Seller won't post the item and I'd be happy to pay cash into your account for cash on collection?

This is the item:

http://www.gumtree.c...2000/1115117945

Seller said someone else was going to come around Sunday to look at it, but if that person flakes out I'm next in line.

If you can help out I'd appreciate it, already missed out on a couple of these on eBay and Gumtree so keen to get 1.

Feel free to PM.

Cheers,
Gavin

well done Scott.
Top bloke!

Gav, what are you doing re bottles for this kt, f you get it?
The usual gas bottle depots charge stupid annual rentals, for these, they are slow to se/empty!
Is there an alternative?
I have a basic set, but bottles are 15 years old, and illegal, so cant go back for exchange, unless I can "slip" them in on the Empties cage!

Hi Gav, Hope you can get the kit. I have had one for about 10 years. Got mine back when they were called the Henrob 2000.  They are low flow and use the same amount of acetylene as oxygen so they run out at the same time unlike CIG kits.

You can weld aluminium and also repair cast iron. Great kit. Just need to use a glove as your hand is close to the flame. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

David

Thanks Scott, not sure when I'll hear from the seller but I'll call Sunday afternoon to check in and then let you know if that's ok? Appreciate the delivery offer also, that would be a big bonus so thanks.

Yeah SpeedGas.

Buy not rent, been renting from CIG for the Mig welder and I've already spent more than it would have cost me to buy. So I just need to bite the bullet and buy a bottle for it.

I believe Bunnings also has a good deal on Oxy/Acetylene bottles, but not Argon at this stage.

Thanks David,

I am hoping the other guy will flake out, but it's a very good price. I was watching this kit.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/182186837142

But it went too high when you factor in hassle of USD -> AUD + shipping. Plus seller wouldn't post international so I'd have to send it to a friend in SFO first and then the hassle of waiting to bring it back with me. Looks like i'll be in the US again in October and I've already got a bunch of parts to bring back with me...

Good to hear you like it, I am hoping it will allow me to weld at a lower heat level to get a neater weld with less distortion.

I wouldn't mind getting 1 of these also to save on gas usage. (can be hard to find now for some reason).
