hey guys, trying to sell for a mate that doesnt internet very well.

hes got 2 240z's that are unstarted projects. both are fairly bare.

red car is rolling shell, has some interior but is also missing alot of stuff inside, has a faggy sunroof installed etc. rust in all the usual Zed spots (ie everywhere)
the silver car has been started on the rust removal by a previous owner, but didnt get very far before it was given up on. no drivetrain/suspension/brakes/interior etc but doesnt have a sunroof.

all the windows are there, and old mate might be able to throw in some other bits if wanted (massive datto horder).

ideally they would be suitable to make one from the 2, for customisation or for racing. would need a heap of fiddly hard to get bits for originality.

located in maiden gully (bendigo) in central vic.

he wants $4k for both, or $2250 each, and is negotiable.
call jonno on 0438006397

Dirt cheap, wayy too cheap.

HS30 01212

and

HS30 10786

*Edit - actually the silver car HS30 10786 - should be a 71 year car. Can anyone else confirm if 71 cars didn't have the storage boxes behind the seats? I thought that changed when the vents in the rear hatch were moved? Eg: After HS30 00500?

It could have been a cut n' shut years ago.

Therefore the car with the sunroof may be the better car...

Have a close look at the photos. Quite a bit of car missing on the silver one. It could be an optical illusion but the alignments looks a bit off looking from the rear through at the transmission tunnel and the missing passengers side floor (silver car). My feeling is these cars don't have a short story to tell rather an epic novel. Worth a look though if you don't have far to go and have the time and money to sort them out. Some good bits amounts the bad I am sure.

Yep the chassis number on the silver car doesn't match the rear floor. So probably 2 cars used to make 1 car.

Depends on what you would want to use it for, would be ok as a race car.

The red car is probably the better restoration candidate - even though it looks like the Silver car has had all the work done on it.

Worth asking price for parts alone.

Spot on Gary. The silver car is #10786, mine is #10763 and has toolboxes. My VIN plate is stamped 3/72.

I my opinion there is nothing wrong with a 'cut & shut', if done correctly, i.e. a staggered cut through the 'A' pillars and good penetration weld. The bad reputation comes from poor workmanship and stolen halves.

Sorry my mistake, yes it's a 72. It's a higher number than my 72. Not sure why I made that mistake first time around but rather than fix it in the post above I'll correct it here.

I agree, the hard part is knowing how good the job done. I do wonder what number early car gave up it's rear end for this car though!

Spot on Gary.

Not sure if continuation of joke here or actually going senile? ;).
