1600dave
I went to recondition a spare pair of twin piston sumitomo calipers this arvo that I've had lying around for years, always assumed they were 240K. However, these are a little different to the "K" ones already on my car (mine are the same as the ones in the pic, and aren't on a zed). The spare ones don't have the large boss in the centre of the main body for the hydraulic line to attach to, this area is flat. The line attaches in the same spot that the bleeder valve attaches (obviously on the other end of the caliper) - pretty much where I've put a circle in the photo attached. Are these zed calipers ? Are zed ones different to 240K ? Are parts the same for both ? Just looking to rebuild them as track day spares / cupboard ornaments. George
Here's my 240Z ones for reference.
1600dave
Thanks, they look the same as the ones on my car (just a bit cleaner......) which are definitely 240K . So 240K and 240Z seem to be the same, wonder what mine are ? These are the ones I'm trying to id, the rusty hole at top right is where the brake line attaches Edited May 29, 2016 by 1600dave
dat2kman
Nope 240K calipers are different to 240/260Z calipers, Castingmoulding marks, slight differences around the joining bolts, and the hydraulc line entry is at the end. Pads for Z are DB86 or DB 525(? I think, Ford Escort RS2000/TC-TD Cortina, but pin holes need drilling to 6.5mm)

1600dave
I guess the next question is - apart from the different entry of brake fluid, are they interchangeable ? DB86 is the pad I use for my 240K calipers. Basically, if I rebuild my spares, will they bolt onto 240K struts with a bit of bending of the brake line, or a new brake line ? HKSZ
I have seen twin spot sumos on a 70's corona that look remarkably like a Z twin spot, but never took any measurements.
