OK, stop being cute Jason and tell us who the buyer is. Or is this some secret squirrel nonsense that will last until the car is tracked  ::)

Richo, i'll be sure to introduce him to this forum, and the prior posts about elegibility of parts etc.
He is a long time racer of Alfas, and i recall his Alfa, often, as I motored past him, numerous times.

He has owned Z's, many years back, and is looking forward to racing a good one!

I have no idea, at this stage, if he plans to re-colour it, in order to present it as his "new" car.
We'll find out soon enough, first intended meet is the EC Retro Speed Festival, always a full field of close Group S cars there.

Sydney Motorsport Park this weekend, in the capable hands of its new owner, Stephen Smith, the car scored a hard fought 3rd Outright.
Pleasing to know it's still going strong!
Well done!

Don't follow Jason, why downshift if the car is carrying good speed in 5th in which situation downshifting inevitably slows the car. I notice that some historic drivers use the gears a lot, sometimes apparently to slow the car, and honestly don't follow how that improves lap times. It looks busy but busy is not always the fastest.

Great to see this car go to an owner who is using it for what it was built for.
The rest of us can only dream about it and look on with admiration.

Thanks for posting the videos. Really enjoyed every turn.

Richard, you can't drive a Zed through turn one flat with the allowable aero for Group S or Marque Sports. Ask me how I know........

With a RX7 Bird bath spoiler my Zed could be driven flat, with the standard bob tail, as Jason said, a dab of brakes, back to fourth, and drive it out of the corner was way faster.

And my car, running slicks had much better mechanical grip than a Group S car. Best speed I was recorded at was 187km/h near the apex just past the flag point at pit exit by the guys on the radar gun for pit lane. As a firie at the time I knew most of the officials and they took a bit of an interest in what the i and the car was doing for the series down there.

In terms of driving tips, i would probably listen to Jason a bit more than you Richard, he seems to have a little experience in these things and knows what makes them goes fast around a track.
