Looking good Other Jeff :)

Thanks Lurch, It's a long road this restoration stuff. I feel like I'm getting there now, I just don't seem to be able to keep pace with that other "Jeff" and his project. I can't wait to hear and see that when it's completed. Some nice work on that one Lurch.

Cheers Jeff (J2)

You were in good company on the proddy 2 later world supersport champs and an almost world champ and multi aust champ!

Yep, pretty cool to look back at the names in that field and what they went on to do, it was good to be part of.

I can't believe this. 240Z's proddy racing and #43. If we ever catch-up with KatoKid its going to be old racing stories, and which is the best Zed colour Orange or Gold .

Orange is best. Gold is just flavour of the year. Old proddy racing story telling session for sure, can't wait, I'm always better than I really was after a few "ORANGE WHIPS"

Quick update, this weekend I got the sugar scoops, valance and the panel in front of the windscreen all sand blasted and in undercoat. I then roughly fitted everything up to the front of the car to check panel alignment. All in all pretty happy, the gaps are pretty even all round.

It has been a while since I have posted but progress is still being made. Today I got to a point that was IMO post worthy and to be honest I didn't want CBR Jeff taking all the limelight. I expect anybody that has been through the process of preparing a car from bare metal (rust repaired) to being ready for paint will know it is a time consuming task. The old Datsun 240Z was not the best body line wise from the factory and 46 years later she certainly has some tales to tell, so getting her back to looking her best takes time. As usual I will let the pics do the talking and for George, you may have won round 1 but I'm catching up.

Cheers Jeff (J2)

Dave the Jeff's are still here!!!!!!!!

These Jeffs work way too fast, they are making us non-Jeffs look bad! Looks good :)

The old commentator curse. I have done some work on the old girl through Jan-Feb but everything has come to a screaming holt as I have got busy with house development work (swimming pool going in for the kids). I had planned to get colour on this in April whilst the weather in Adelaide is normally a pretty constant mid 25 Deg, but that won't happen know. I suspect colour coates will be more like Sept now. Need not worry as I have plenty of other jobs to go on with like engine detail, dash refurb etc, all good winter jobs. I tried the colour out on a motorcycle I have been fixing up and I'm pretty happy with the choice. Over to the latest pics.

Howdy all,

It has been forever since my last post. I could go on and on with the excuses but I like to look to the future not the past. Let's just say that the future looks way better than the past. To bring things up to date - I have finished putting our family pool in, landscaping is all done and my daughters have enjoyed the summer immensely. I think it all worked out pretty good.

As for the datto, I haven't touched it for nearly a year. It felt good to get to work on it this weekend. I got the internal hatch area all cleaned up and got the first coat of KBS rust seal applied. I really wanted to get this part finished as I'm hopeful that the car will be off to get painted in the next few weeks to a month. So hopefully if the shell is painted soon this project will be able to move forward over the next year. Check out the pics. Cheers Jeff (J2).

Rome wasn't built in a day Jeff.

Family comes first and the pool looks great so don't get dispirited....mine took 7 years. Sure it would have been better if it was shorter but its the end result that counts.

Keep at it mate!

Adelaide Cup day holiday Monday and perfect weather gave me a chance to get some stuff done. I had previously given the fuel tank a clean with a pressure cleaner, so today I hit it with the wire brush on the grinder before getting on coat of KBS rust seal on one side. before and after shots below.

Now to get the engine on an engine stand, then take the sump off for painting and paint the block at the same time.

Cheers Jeff

Time for an update, unfortunately no pics of anything 240Z today. The engine is in the stand and that is as far as that has got. I took the opportunity to give the shed a clean and reorg as I had a bit of room with the 240Z not being there anymore. No I haven't sold it!!! Gav would have got first dibs anyway. The 240 is at the paint shop - very exciting however as usual things are not running to schedule at the paint shop so I have no idea when I will get it back from them.

So whilst she is away I am finishing up getting all the suspension ready for her return as the first thing I want to do is put her back on her wheels. Hopefully I will have some update pics soon if I can stay off project cars 2 ( it would be nice to do some laps in a real 240Z so I best get cracking).

I also did manage to finish putting al the decals on my 1993 Honda RS250.

Cheers Jeff

P.S. Dave - I have been working on my 240Z for 7.5 years now - I hope I'm over the hump now.
