Brakes For Rb26 Z

Recommended Posts

hi everyone

My mate has put in an rb26 into his z, went to engineering and the bloke said the brakes aren't stopping the car well enough.

Would the hilux upgrade be enough? any reccomendation on pads and rotors that would be the easiest way to stop the car?

Been told might have to go R33 skyline calipers but the kit is about $2000 and 3 weeks wait.

any advice is appreciated.

thanks

Phil

I have the S12+8 R31 rear on my V8 260Z. Parts wise you would be looking around $1000. I actually sell the rear conversion kits for the R31 (how ironic) It pulled negative 1.49 G on a brake test, engineering requires negative .8 G to pass.

Out of curiosity which engineer is he using Phil?

As Mark says, Hilux and R31 combo should be enough. If he wants to use R33 then this is an option:

I'm not sure who the engineer is, good to know that they required .8 Gs cause I haven't been told of this as well.

Scoota have you got a kit you could sell to me?

.8 is a fade test where they 60 to 0 twenty times in a row then last stop 100 to 0 to test brake fade. I will have another Rear R31 kit ready next week. Send me a message as i will give you the Auszcar discount if you are interested. Kits come minus pads and rotors so you can choose your own combo.
