Mr Camouflage
Looks like an RB swap patient. Actually... This has a full custom floor and chassis with the engine moved back into the fire wall. Its to be a Sportsedan Racecar. It will run an SB2.2 NASCAR Chev 6ltr thru a Holinger 6 speed, IMSA body kit. I was going to run an RB as I have a lot of them but I now want simple reliable power. Edited September 23, 2016 by Mr Camouflage

Sandgroper
and with that it looks like I have another lead on an early car. HS30 00306. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/6908-help-needed-alan-hs-30-h/?do=findComment&comment=43204 LEE240ZPERTH - Hopefully he still has it. Unfortunately Gav, I sold #306 quite a few years ago. The upside is that I have #63 tucked up in the garage awaiting restoration, I will shortly have three cars (different makes) all in need of restoration, so will have to decide which one to start on first, that will be a dilemma, albeit a nice dilemma to have
Sandgroper
Here is an interesting car. HS30 00879 also known as TKS33 SA 3640 Kevin Bristow's ex-Works 1971 Datsun 240Z rally car With engine: L24 039427 http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/32332-works-rally-240z-resto-featured-in-octane-magazine/ Article on it here: http://www.autotraderclassics.com/car-article/King+of+the+RAC+_+Datsun+240Z+rally+car+restoration-55346.xhtml I bought Octane magazine years ago when living in Europe and I was sure I brought it back with me, but now I can't find it anywhere! So looks like i'll have to get another copy. If memory serves correct this car didn't have the Safari cylinder head (part no. 11041-E4621), rather it was a highly modified E30 head? Check out those megaphones! I advertised for a 240 seat for my 1st Z when I was in the UK, when I went to the address to pick the seat up, it was Kevin Bristows place, I knew next to nothing about Z's then, so didn't take a whole lot of notice of the restoration that was going on in his barn, I did have look but didn't know the significance of the car, nor did I take a whole lot of notice of the guy with the Samuri visiting at the same time (James Morris) If that visit had occurred now, I'm sure the cops would have be called to remove a stalker! gav240z

Administrators gav240z Posted November 18, 2016 Author Administrators Share Posted November 18, 2016 HS30 00091 Sister car to the recently sold HS30 00092 that went to Singapore and was sold by Curtis. Looks like both were originally 905 Red cars. If you search for this VIN # you'll find quite a few references to it, looks like 2003 was when it was listed in the trading post. Then in 2006 someone might have bought it off the new owner and the leads go quiet after that. Good to see a photo of it all the same. curtis 240z
The safari gold one above Gav is hs30 #1254. Unfortunately the previous owner who was the second owner parked it in 1989 in the front yard where it sat till around 2007 and it was rotted from the inside out, how ever most of the parts for this car went to build up #379 of memory a few years back. gav240z

Administrators gav240z Posted November 22, 2016 Author Administrators Share Posted November 22, 2016 HS30 00930 is for sale. Registration: TECHNOZ (Victoria) https://www.facebook.com/MelbournePerformance/posts/1448623581845005 One of our excellent clients has his immaculate Datsun 240z FOR SALE and we would dearly love to see it go to a good home. We have recently done some tuning and other work to this car, and to be honest the quality of this car needs to be seen to be believed! enquire through us at the shop if you would like to view the car. Serious interests only please. Below is some of the sellers comments. "The motor is a non original 2600cc running on Wolf engine management. It has recently had some work done at Melbourne Performance Centre in Bayswater including a dyno run and tuning. The car was restored about 10 years ago (bodywork done by The Healey Factory) but hasn't been used much since then. The original motor is included with the car as are some other original parts including the the carbs and airbox, original steering wheel, heater box, and much more. The roll cage is CAMS approved and is “bolt in” and can be removed. The number plate's are not included in the sale."
Administrators gav240z Posted November 23, 2016 Author Administrators Share Posted November 23, 2016 Just an FYI, but I'm going to slowly start adding photos of cars to a photo album on the site and then from this thread reference that album. I've already done it for the first 2 entries. This way rather than see just 1 image of the car, we can add multiple images since cars evolve, change over time etc.. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/gallery/category/10-hs30-registry/ Up until now I've been storing the images in my Google Photos Albums but I think there is more merit in adding them to the websites gallery and that way others can contribute photos over time. I can also add a bit of a description to the albums to give more context about the cars and a little bit of their history. This will be a bit of a long manual process, but in the long term should serve the purpose better and help keep things organised. Here is a sample of what my Google Photos looks like. cracker, Ponyo240z and George
Moderators PB260Z Posted November 24, 2016 Moderators Share Posted November 24, 2016 Hi Mate You have put a huge amount of work into this and it is going to be an amazing reference point. Could I suggest adding an "as at" date or similar to the photos and notes. Cheers PB
Administrators gav240z Posted November 24, 2016 Author Administrators Share Posted November 24, 2016 Where possible I'll definitely try and do that. Once we get HS30's documented, we can move onto RS30's and GRS30's also. Perhaps even S30 and PS30, but definitely not interested in doing HLS30's. . HS30-H
I'm starting to believe the numbers published here: http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/1535-build-nos-the-truth It certainly seems to be holding up based on what I know of the early cars.. In my opinion, any set of "Production/Sales Figures" for these cars that doesn't include Japan - the country in which the damned things were conceived and built - is not worth taking seriously. Even if - taken in isolation - *some* of the figures appear to have a passing resemblance to reality... I believe the original source was a Nissan coffee table puff book titled 'Datsun 280ZX' (Not 'Nissan S130-series', as pedants like me might have hoped...) which was published to big-up the Karate-posing White Jumpsuited Fat Elvis of the Z family when it was launched. It's a crock of... gav240z
