dat2kman
I'm more than happy with my 2.43's In a car that is 1/10th, pissibly 1/20th the cost. What was its race lap record? Qually lap records dont count for race record. Was it still faster than a Taxi?
potter260
What's the fastest lap ever of Bathurst? I think I found it? The current official lap record is held by Formula Three driver Simon Hodge at 2:02.6701 set on 20 April 2014. Hodge was driving a Mygale M11-Mercedes-Benz Formula Three. Cozza
Wow that is unreal!! I like this 1600 doing 2.30's Here's an article about Buttons an unofficial F1 time of 1.48 http://www.motorsportretro.com/2011/03/jenson-button-craig-lowndes-bathurst/ I don't know why it wasn't officially timed though ? 1600dave
I was up spectating last Easter, watching the F3's continually drop the lap record all weeked, Finally finished at 2:02 as mentioned above. They were absolutely flying, can't imagine a production car based racer doing the same speeds. Button's F1 was a demo thing, not counted as a race record. 260DET
This gave me shivers, not much does that. Interesting points, compared with a V8SC it picks up ~2 seconds across the top but loses in outright speed, max on the video 280kph.
PZG302
As said above, a lap record can only be counted when it is done in a race. The taxi commentators love to quote the qually records as the fastest laps ever but they mean nothing in the record books. In the 12 hour the lap record was reset at a 2:03.309 set by the Pheonix racing Audi R8
260DET
Put this up because I thought it would appeal to any enthusiast who gets a buzz when car and driver come together to do something special. Glad that some were able to see it that way
