Fast and Furious 6...

Typical F&F movie. Over the top action scenes, thin plot, thinner happenstances, cool cars... That get destroyed. :( Bad guys die, good guys go without penalty.

That has to be one of the largest army bases ever, the runway was quite long...

For just a minute there I thought they were doing a F&F, The Mechanic crossover... I was confused for a second, but it turns out they aren't.

The general consensus seems to be that it's between 27 and 28 miles long. lol

dunno about this whole 'new style' that the latest F&F movies are going for, it seems they have lost their direction.
There is less gear changing and more storyline.
wtf????

My latest watchings (other than Breaking bad) has been;

Europa Report (2013), That was quite a good movie, Decent storyline, reasonable 'accuracy' to the scenario, nice twist at the end.
http://www.imdb.com/...1879/?ref_=sr_1

Mud (2012) A nice movie with Matthew McConaughey and Reese Whiterspoon, more of a drama that the missus could enjoy too.
http://www.imdb.com/...5179/?ref_=sr_1

The Iceman (2012) a movie about the iceman killer, Richard Kuklinski.
http://www.imdb.com/...ref_=fn_al_tt_1

Snitch (2013) starring the Rock as a dad that goes undercover with drug cartels to help his son get out of jail.
http://www.imdb.com/...2977/?ref_=sr_1

I have all 5 predator movies to watch just for the fun of it, and a new one called Lockout that might be half decent(or might not)
http://www.imdb.com/...2525/?ref_=sr_1

Hoping to get Elysium and Pacific Rim pretty soon, And im looking forwards to some of the new stuff coming soon.
Still looking for Saftey Not Garunteed, cos it looks like it'll be pretty good.

Not quite right mate. Elysium is directed by the same director as D9.

District 9 is not a sequel or companion movie to any other movie. It is based on a short movie that I will post the link to when I get home on my PC (pasting links from an iPhone is annoying).

Safety Not Guaranteed is an ok movie, pacing is slow and the story needed some more work. It seemed almost as though long pauses or the pacing was made slow just to fill out a time length requirement. There is much of the movie that could have been removed IMO and still told the same story. I'll warn you now the 280Z is in rough shape and makes me sad to see it that way. Though it wouldn't make sense to have a pristine and shiny Z due to the character that owns it.

Iron Man 3...

Did Christopher Nolan, Jonathan Nolan, Drew Pearce and Shane Black write Iron Man 3 and The Dark Knight Rises in the same room at the same time, while sharing ideas?

Such a freaking let down.

--==Warning mild spoilers, sort of==--

Iron Man 3 starts off with a Tony Stark that is obviously disturbed from past events as Iron Man, goes through a period where he has to battle the bad guys directly and in a way finds himself, then uses his gadgets to fight the final battle, along with other friends then Iron Man "ceases" to be, with a final parting shot that says, well maybe that's not the end of the story...
Where as The Dark Knight Rises was in no way the same, in it there was Bruce Wayne that was disturbed from past events as Batman,  then after being beaten and learned to fight again, in a way finds himself again, after which he uses his gadgets to fight the final battle, with friends helping, and ends with Batman "ceasing" to exist, with a final parting shot of maybe that's not really the end of the story...

Oh wait...

Nope, Those 4 guys couldn't have possibly been sharing ideas, or story line...

They should have combined both movies so that I wouldn't have had to spend so much time sitting through the same movie twice...

I have to admit Iron Man 3 was pretty average, I only really liked Ben Kingsley role in it. I only watched it because I was on a long flight back to Sydney and thought it might be ok.

The first Iron man was good, the second was still ok, but the 3rd, well... it's getting a bit tired.

I agree, Iron Man was great. Iron Man 2 was good, but they seemed to go just a bot far with explosions and action scenes pushed into the story that kinda broke it up.

It seems I'm not the only one who sees the similarities between The Dark Knight Rises and Iron Man 3, and many more that I forgot about:

Jeff, Who Lives at Home (2011) - meh. Slow meandering and uninspiring. No idea why it has received a metacritic score of 60.

Up in the Air (2009) - opposite of meh. Slow meandering but pleasant. Produced during the economic downturn and used current themes very well. It's one of these movies that doesn't wow you at any moment but after you finish watching it you feel the full effect.

Last night I watched the Gruen Transfer and saw this Victorian Metro public safety ad.

Thought it was rather funny. Had to share it. Of course I assume many Victorians may have already seen it.

There is also an iPad app, our 8 year old daughter and her friends love it.

This is the End (2013) - meh. Was looking forward to it but it was a disappointment.

Terms and Conditions May Apply (2013) - Wow. This was some scary stuff. If you want to feel paranoid and concerned about your activities online then watch this. It will make you want to delete your Facebook account. Hell, I feel like cutting my telephone wire, buying canned food and locking the front door for a few years in the hope privacy laws change. It's very US centric but still eye opening and entertaining. A documentary every internet user ought to watch.

Thanks for the link Gav. I happened to watch it when it aired. All this tracking is starting to be a topic of discussion which is healthy.
