Well these should be on the way to me from Japan. Just won them.

Genuine 15" Watanabe .10" at rear. Those rear tires are 295. They came off a zg. Cant wait for them to arrive.

Don't ask how much... Prob could have bought new set of simons for these. though these are better. just had to have them.

Thank Gareth. your car is an inspiration. Cheers for the links.

Oh yeah!  8)  this is going to be awesome!

pfft should have bought 15x12 -54 and some Works flares.

Nah very very cool. Did you go through jesse streeter?

nah even these i think i be in trouble with the boys in blue. not a fan of works flares. too big.

Yeah Jesse is helping out. Its going to be a pretty big bill  :o  missus going to be upset  ::)

wheels alone are going to cost me over 2K landed no tires. the rest i think at least another 2K. I may be sleeping in the workshop for few months.

Awesome looking wheels mate, do they actually do them in 12" wide as thriller mentioned?

Cheers

Cheers Alex, biggest ive seen so far were 12"

On watanabe website depends on what style i think largest are 12.

Though have seen 11.5" for rears pair only for 1.2k. Even 10" i think they will stick out on zg flares. May have to widen the flares lighly. No biggie.

295 rear tires on a 240 will look crazy.

Give the rb26 something to cry about down the track.

Alex just google his name comes with his page than email him.

Im not sure if he tracks it so far i just sent him links on items and he buys them.

All the guys i know that used him did the same.

Now searching that term may be triky by yourself search engines do not repond well to normal alphabet so best to email and ask.

Hes very good and quick with replies.

Seen some cool stuff but prices are out of this world dont forget z cost lot more there so parts are lifted accordingly

You betcha! $715 each, brand spankers.

http://www.watanabe.com.au/page3.html

"15x12  -51  4 or 5  110 or 114.3  8.6kg  $715"

Streeter is a top guy. Wheels will take a bit less than three months from sending the link to them turning up at your door. Roughly $100 postage a wheel. Use something like importmonster.com.au looking for wheels. Z stuff is useless (waaaayyyy more expensive than here, U.S. ebay is good for that stuff) though it's fun to type in 'S20' or 'Z432' or whatever and see what comes up

Cheers guys will keep them in mind. Only question will be whether they fit over brake upgrades and whether offset is right as site says they are not compatible with some modern brake upgrades. What are you doing brakes wise Johnny? Will be interested to know how they fit with any brake upgrades.

Cheers.

At the moment with l26 or l28 turbo just doing hilux vented upgrade at the front and r31 or s13,s14,s15 rear conversion.

Once rb26 is in i will see. Maybe s14 r33 or rx7 front rears either leave or upgrade to z32 r32 items. Not sure yet. Want to run abs once rb goes in. Its going to be daily so not requiring 50laps at bathurst or PI. So wheels will stay and brakes will be worked around them.

Also whatever engineer says. Don't see how hilux 4 spot with good pads  and rear disk wont be adequate.

Will be running short nose gtr diff at back that has abs sensors. So fronts need to be upgraded to suit. Also may need to run twin piston at the back because of the abs modulator.

Yes it is Grande Prix Marron or 240zg maroon as most peps know it by.

So i guess most can see which direction this project is heading and why fat watanabe could only be on it and why lime didn't suit.

On fire today. Presents keep arriving.

The FG falcon intercooler looks like a reasonable fit just to decide the orientation that works out best for L and RB later. Looks like a good cooler rated to 350kw bout what i need.

Also looks stock which me like.

Also one of the fairladyz badges arrived. Nothing better than a feel of a new part.

Im gona cry when i cut the z part off.  :'(

Oh well must be done to replicate the "fairlady 240z" on ZG

More goodies please.

Oh I forgot picked up the replacemnt floor on weekend from rare spares. Looks like a good fit.

So at the moment got all the bits to do on the engine bay.

Building a storage/garden shed behind workshop so i can clean up my backyard so dont look like a wreck yard.

Also clean up the workshop. Once that is done finish blasting the front end. Weld te rails and rad support back on mount the car on rotisserie and blast the rest of it. Than enter the workshop for rust repairs and body work.

Scored these yesterday.

zg hinges at a reasonable price.

And scored an r200 lsd 4.3 at a realy good price.

Though need 4 bolt driveshafts. So if someone has any floating around please let me know.

F48C6E57-B580-497B-9A49-3D4A41A01799-474-000000C9D1128050_zps3298e3b3.jpg

Also are 260z driveshafts same as 240. Besides fliping the moustache bar is there any other changes between r180 and r200 upgrade? Or best to get the 260 rear parts. Got a feeling 260 m bar is bit beefier.

After this weekend should be all back 100% working on the z. Nato is working hard on the rails so should be finished soon so i better get the rest of the car ready for it.

Should be fine mick exactly that they are a bit lazy and add a bigger turbo shorter diff should aid in quicker boost response.

Dont forget rb20 have less torque hence the need of shorter diff. Though L28 have more but are also slower and laggy with big turbo. We see i think should be fine. Even if i have to change the ratio it will still work out cheaper than chasing a 3.9 or 4.11 actual lsd diff. Got this at realy good price.

You're in luck with the 4 bolt shafts; I have a spare pair. You may have to change the rear part that sits behind the diff where the rear arms pivot bolt to. From memory the R180 is straight, and the R200 has a curve in it.

Thanks Dimitri add the shafts to "the pile" please  ;D also if u have those bits for r200 diff conversion. Also replied to your pm.

Mick yeah i didnt know i only picked the diff 2days ago. Wasnt even searching but checked my r180 and wasnt lsd so had to find one.

Hey just thought if you want me to pick up 'the pile' and bring it back to Adel I could probably do that pretty easily... ? Might save both you guys the hassle of postage. Unless the pile is literally a big pile of bits...

This car will be so tough. Still aiming to be finished for end of March?

Hi Ryan cheers for the offer. Most stuff is fairly small. Though biggest part is the rear hatch. So if you could fit that than be awesome if u could bring it down.

Not sure been almost two weeks since i touched the car busy cleaning up workshop and making a shed to store some parts and tools.

Though after this weekend it be 100% work on it. So i try my best but possibly end of april start of may im hoping.

You will need to use 260z mustache bar as the diff bolts wont fit a 240z mustache bar unless you slot the holes out. And yes 260's is beefier. Also you will need to use 260z half shafts. As diff is slightly offset to one side. 240z ones will fit but will eventually bind up. Some people will say 240z and 260z shafts are the same but I've done the measurements when i went from r180 to r200. One shaft is slightly longer than the other. Only by a few mm though.

Thanks Retro,

not using stock half shafts dont think they last with my choice of engine. got some CV's from a R31 turbo jdm model.

though in search for the r200 mustachy and those other bits. i had 2 sets lying around and threw them out so freaking pissed.

NOTE: never listen to your mother/wife/anyone who tell you that you don't need that part.  As soon as you listen few weeks after it be "FOR #@&* sake !*(*@#@ I had it" why did i listen.

ok shoping from japan has ended. items are on their way.

Still no progress as of now. still sorting out my workshop and preparing the other z for pick up.

soon next weekend should be some progress.
