Tim's White 71' 240Z aka 570Z Fer Sael *Price Drop 22K*

As the title suggests I'm looking to sell my Zed. :'(

The build thread is below but in short, its a 71 model 240Z.

It has a 5.7L LS1/T56 6 speed gearbox conversion - QLD mod plated

R200 diff

Coil-overs

Z31 front and rear brakes

Rota Grid rims 16 x 8's with Dunlop Formula R road legal semi's

It has sport seats - Mod plated

Autometer dash instruments

It's FAST and its LEGAL

I know there are haters out there and its not everyone's cup of tea, and I initially was going to do the L6 thing or an RB conversion but this combo really made sense for me.

This car would suit someone tackling a similar build, but is a little 'over-whelmed' by how much work is involved to put the thing back together and get it all running again, let alone if you plan to do any engineering modifications. You might have the $$ but don't seem to have the time. Trust me I've been there with my first Zed. My intentions were there and I poured the hours in but never seemed to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I am also aware that a build is never finished and there is still heaps of things and money you could throw at this thing if you wanted to.

All you would need to return this car to an original drive line (apart from the L6, gearbox and tailsahft itself) is a replacement engine cross member, and re-weld the passenger side gearbox cross member mount in place as it was ground off to make room for the big T56. Current engine/gearbox wiring harness is obviously to suit the LS1 as well.

I'm looking for interest around the 25K mark. The car is located in Gladstone QLD.

Will consider a trade for a 4x4 or fishing boat ;D

cheers

You know you've been in Gladstone too long when...

Or you're pregnant.

As funny as that sounds there's a lot of truth to that. Not sure about the pregnant thing though?

It rained out last time I was going to run it down the strip. There's another one next month if it's still mine.

Yep, yep, yep.............too long in sadrock..........it happens !

Been here 14 years myself and have too much of the above.

Can't trade the boat for your zed until I get the new bigger boat.

Can't trade any of the 4x4's cause they're all new and the drivers would get upset.

I can trade a '71 Pony..........or a couple of dogs? Interested ?

Anyone interested in a performance 240Z should seriously consider this car. Even if you had to get a loan you will be way ahead in the long run. Building your own is for a very few specialist who have the skills and resources or for people with very deep pockets. You would really struggle to build AND get this car on the road for under $35k. This site is littered with hopeful projects which have never reached fruition - I should know!

This car has an ulta-reliable 400hp (about 150hp more than most will ever use) and, as with all 240Zs, there are little things you can do to gradually alter it to your liking. Before you buy that tired old Zed and submit your first Journal post with your wish-list of modifications (to follow the rust removal) give this car some serious thought.

I know the guy is a Queenslander and all that, and ethically you shouldn't take advantage but this is too good a deal.

Agreed 150% on Peter Allens comments regarding trying to build a machine like this for under 35K. If someone is looking for a modified zed, or wants to transform theirs to one like this then you'd be so much better buying one done and modifying from there to suit. Hell im up to almost 40k on a RB25det swap and still have paint to go!!

Goodluck with the sale, I wish I didnt buy an invesment property or Id have used the deposit for this car.....
