Gearbox, will it fit?

Hi all
Looking for a 5-sp to replace my '72 240z's auto. Can someone tell me if this will fit?

Doesn't say if it's for a 4- or 6-cyl.

More info here, pretty sure all L either 4 or 6 have the same bolt pattern.
Looks like it comes from a skyline. Unsure if it will work.

Nope, no good for a zed.

The seller's referral to it as a "stumpy" box and the smooth casing would indicate it is a stanza dogleg 5 speed, in which case it is a lighter duty box (type 63 rather than type 71, type 63 were only ever fitted to 4-cylinders) and is too short.

although this wont work with a zed, they where a bloody great gearbox...I had one in my daddo in the 80's

Yep, I've had the same box but in the longer version (out of a 180B SSS) in my 1600 for close to 20 years. Performed faultlessly all that time, till it got stuck in third at LapZ at the Lake the other weekend
