Z's 71 240Z
« on: September 08, 2010, 11:05:19 AM »
I have been stuffing round with getting a build thread going for ages now... shall I post, shant I - weird really when it aint world peace is it! Had the car for nearly a year now, just stoked to have a Z again, with not a lot happening, but now as I don't have any car and being determined not to let this project fester (like they can), I have stepped it up a notch over the last six months.

All running gear is in place with L26 and the twins (original block on stand), interior needs fixing up, or replacing, plus front and rear (lights etc) need doing. It sounds simple writing it, but it has not been that way for me so far! These shots are how I got her...

Here we go!

Since the last pics I have moved house and a few things have been sorted. Got the rear lights done, paid too much for a JDM wheel, hatch on and a 3" inch mandrel exhaust...Beef lol!

And lastly, since last pics (just getting u updated fellas) got the front/rear bumpers re-chromed with new rubbers. So yeah thats it, really - looking forward to getting this thing out on the road this summer and finishing off the car properly. There are further plans down the line (as always), but really just happy to have a zed again that will be tidy, have a nice set of rims and dropped a little.
Cheers as always:)

Heya Revsey;)
Thanks for the encouragement, a little more should be happening soon which is satisfying, not fast enough though!
If u end up Zedless come up for some R n R, Hayden has too many to count.

Looking good mate, started on that coil loom for you, not too happy with it though so might redo it again (probably why my projects take so long because I keep redoing things).

So what is the new deadline?
Come on, post a deadline to the registration date, then work like buggery to meet it. Once the date is public it is much more motivating (which is why I am not putting a deadline on mine, HA!)

260z Hubs?
« Reply #13 on: September 28, 2010, 07:58:03 AM »
Howdy,
I've got rubber on the Simmons and the right nuts (they gave me 1.5) but the front hubs stick out through the wheels, I cannot fit the front wheel caps on...
I've searched the forum for "260z Hubs", "Hubs" etc but am I on the right track? Is the answer to change to 260z hubs?
Sorry, this average shot is the only photo I have right now, any advice would be appreciated guys...

If you can't modify the wheel cap to fit, you could just leave it off all together and paint the cap on the hub black or silver.
