will my driveshaft fit?

Hi guys. im in the prosess of changeing my r180 diff with an r200 in my 280zx 2+2 just wondering if the stock driveshaft will be the right length ?

Yes it will fit. While you have both diffs out of the car just check that the new diff has the same type of flange as the old one. Worse case scenario you might need to unbolt them and swap the flanges over. Other than that you will be OK.

I assumed you were talking about the driveshaft from the gearbox to the diff?

If you are talking about the two half shafts (out to the wheels) it is a different story as the splines will be different.

I'm curious why a R180 diff is in your 280? And how it was able to fit...

autos had the R180 with universal joints. Manuals got the R200 with CVs

Ohh..as you have seen, I don't know my 280's that well. The only thing I do know about them is fitting an aftermarket stereo deck is a PITA!

yeap. its an auto shell, so it came with the r180. ive got the halfshafts for the r200 already so that sould be fine.

280zx's also came with a full cv'd r180 rear end....
