L series gearbox bolt sizes - help!
« on: February 26, 2010, 06:45:14 AM »
Help!
I've hired a engine hoist to swing the original block out of the rear tire well, got no time to fart around going back in forward from my place to the hardware store all Saturday morning sussing out bolt sizes, while picking up the hoist and the boss complaining about a wrecked Sat morning...to the forum!
I bought an engine stand this week and its ready to go.
Does anybody know what size and pitch? the L series gearbox bolts are, so when I get the block out I have the right bolts to attach the engine to the stand?
Simple for some, but no me! Cheers in advance.

Bolt threads are M10 x 1.5 pitch. Original bolts are from memory M10x60mm but for the engine stand, I've used old head bolts with some spacers.

Reason to explain the nerdy behavior is:
a: Work at a bolt place
b: Just installed a gearbox in my zed (RB - L series)
c: Had to look for the same bolts at work!
