Sorry, you have that wrong, bodies weren't new. What actually happened was Nissan USA found some good condition 240Z's, and had them rebuilt them back to original specifications.  Basically most parts except the bodies were new or rebuilt. Original engine, gearbox and diff were rebuilt. Bodies were stripped, rust repaired, repainted and interiors retrimmed.

I have a copy of the restoration checklist which specifies which parts were to be replaced, rebuilt, replated, or reused.

There is a 25th Anniversary model in the Lancefield Collection!!  It is as tired as the ones from the 70's tho.
Zeds are more fun than women!!   You know I'm right, but you're too scared to admit it!!

like I said in the other post:

its original ys but its not great...there is rust in the firewall near the battery which from my experience means rust in everyother usual place.

The engine bay looks tired......this car is definatly a resto job...

And the colour.....yes its original but dont we all just want a red, white or silver zed (lime yellow is the best BTW)...this mustard/gold car will need a respray to push the value up.

I was a bit late getting on to this, It would of been interesting to look at the delevery documents and see when it was sold new, being such an early number?
Another 240Z saved from the restorers....

That 240Z sold in the range that shannons expected (15 to 20 thousand). The $30,000 price tag was a somewhat optimistic owners asking price. Maybe they were misinformed as to its value in Australia.

I wonder if its staying here or going back to Japan.
