Vale': Warren John Halliday (WarrenZ)
« on: September 22, 2009, 04:45:31 AM »
It is with great sadness that I pass on this news about WarrenZ.
I only just sent out an email last night to a few people advising of his condition, when I received an email this morning from his lovely wife Kay advising that Warren passed away on Friday 18th September in a Palliative Care unit in Broadmedows, Melbourne. :(
He was surrounded buy his family. He was 58.

Warren was diagnosed with Advanced Melanoma 10 weeks ago & the speed at which it took hold was frightening... :'(
There will be a funereal in Adelaide, & a memorial service in Melbourne in the coming weeks.

Warren John Halliday: August 14, 1951 - September 18, 2009
If you knew Warren, and would like to post a message on the page simply click here: http://memorialwebsites.legacy.com/Warren_Halliday/homepage.aspx

Farewell my tall friend - you will be sadly missed.
May you Rest In Peace.

Lurch.

Yes shocking news. Sad to see such a lovely gentle man go in such a way. My condolences to Kay and the rest of the family. I think maybe we should name the Bi-annual Thredbo Trip after Warren since he and Kay had such a great time only last February. RIP big fella.   :'(

I must say I'm very sad to hear this news. Warren was 1 of the first guys to show up at our first meeting in 2004 in his Silver 240z. Always friendly and enthusiastic.

Here are some shots of his Z at the first ever meet.

Here is a picture of Warren when he went to Japan.

Rest in Peace....

Maybe the next cruise should be dedicated to warren.

I think that would be a great idea.

I'm sorry to everyone that has received this information so suddenly.
I found out he was undergoing treatment when I caught up with him & Kay at the John Mott sprint in July.
At the time I did not feel obliged too make his illness more public, though in later weeks I should have been more vigilant in staying in contact with them.

For anyone wishing to send a personal email of condolences to Kay, I have her email address.
Feel free to PM me for it.

May he rest in peace for eternity.
I second a motion for the Thredbo run to be named after him and would like to volunteer some money towards some thing special for Kay from all of us.
