First Zcar Buyers Guide
« on: July 09, 2007, 09:12:36 AM »
Hi everyone,
As part of a new technical articles section on the website, I would like us to put together (with the help of everyone) a new Zcar owners buyers guide.

We have probably all experienced some common problems and know of some common pitfalls when it comes to a Zcar and many potential new owners or buyers commonly ask questions related to what to look for.

I'd like to start a thread with input from all about what they think we should list in the article.

I am thinking of perhaps breaking it into sections based on year and model.

EG:
Series I 240z 1970 - 1971
Series II 240z 1971 1/2 - 1973
and so on....

It would also be good to have seperation between bodywork and mechanicals, perhaps like a concours checklist.

I think an article / guide would be a huge value to Z owners around the world and we can always add reference pictures and other relevant information as we go.

Let me know your thoughts.  ;)

I'd add a full engine area as well. Probably with a few pointers on flat top carbs vs SU's vs hitachi/mikuni/webers/solex/delorto/holley carbs and what they should look like. I know from example that tracking down parts for the carburettion area on a zed is a wee hard little nugget.

What about a price point with an example ? or is that going to get too much arguements ?
These cars are so much fun.
