Hi guys,
just picking up on the introduction thing.

I've had a 1982 280 ZX Targa 2x2 sitting in my carport for the last four years.  My son fell in love with the 280 and bought it back in 2004 (ish), with the aim of restoring it back to its former glory.  It was bought in Sydney off ebay.  It was a great runner (manual gearbox) and was his daily drive for quite a few years.  I'm sure it's a familiar story,  but I inherited the vehicle when he moved to Sydney and subsequently got married and realised he didn't have time to restore the car (and needed cash!).  Having been around the car for a while I have also got hooked on the whole Z thing as well, but have been too busy at work and other life things to get serious about the rebuild.  It got to the stage where I either had to get serious and start working on the car, or get rid of it out of the carport!.  As usual, an ebay wander one day led me to another 280 ZX that I could strip for parts, so I decided to get serious and get stuck in.
So that's where I'm at.  I'm about half way through stripping the second vehicle so that I can get rid of the shell and start work on the original.

I think the club has a great forum and I am looking forward to keeping in touch.

Peter

Welcome aboard.

I hope you realise you are now on slippery slide from which you will never escape.  Hotel california has nothing on Zed restoration/ownership.

There is no such thing as a stupid question - just stupid people.  Simply ask a question about your 280ZX and they will answer it for you  ;D
Zeds are more fun than women!!   You know I'm right, but you're too scared to admit it!!

It's not too bad.  Usual sill rust and some at the front right behind the guard (probably due to mud getting behind the panels).
