Seal & Rubber Adhesive
« on: January 15, 2012, 08:33:44 AM »
Hi guys,

Over the Christmas holidays I attempted to fit some new hatch and door seals to my zed. Over the last week or so I have found that the adhesive I used is coming away and not holding the seals in place  >:(

I used Loctite contact adhesive/trim cement (it's yellow and comes in a mini paint tin) the first time but I was wondering what other people used to glue their seals down? My seals were sourced from Scott's old auto rubber in Oakleigh if it matters.

Thanks

Sikaflex do some wicked sealant/adhesives. They have a decent range. You just need tiniest bead of adhesive.
Forget trying silicone based things.

try bostik Seal "N" Flex FC.....or bostik 5CLM , these are polyurethane based sealants. The seal N flex Ive only ever seen available as "sausages" but the 5CLM come in standard tubes.
both come in black.
